I went over to my newly "ex" JW friends and we had a BLAST with the kids. Her youngest daughter went with a group of her school friends around the neighborhood, and she was over the moon at her first time being able to be a normal kid. Alot of the parents in the neighborhood were very laid back and mellow...........even had bottles of beer in their hands............two dads had small six pack coolers with them!! LOL!

Just a thought, folks, about the "we were here first" train of thought applying to the aboriginals.
Remember they were migrants too, having come to this vast continent long ago, so I have trouble saying it's anyone's land. The past is the past, it's what we do now that's important.
Ozzie...........you are absolutely correct, and the aboriginal peoples all over the world for the most part will tell you that they don't "own" the land, that it belongs to the Creator, or the Great Spirit, etc. But, they have a quality that greed has pushed out of much of the European mindset........they believe/d that they are/were stewards of the land, and that they have/had an obligation to it and the other inhabitants to walk gently on it. History shows that this was not just talk, they truly practiced what we, today, call a "green" lifestyle. When they started to move away from these practices and adopt the ways of the Europeans was when things started to go downhill within their culture. Fortunately, there have remained a small group who have retained the ancient traditions and practices and are educating today's young people from all cultures and sharing it with the larger world.

Stephanus, I appreciate the information you shared with me re: genocide. Of course, here in the USA, we've got our own "Hall of Shame"..........the horrible things that the "white man" did to the resident native americans............of course, this has happened in just about every land that has been invaded by Europeans.........I'm remembering what the Spaniards did to the Mayans and the Mexicans and the Aztecs..............please don't think I'm pointing fingers just at Australia. I just want to clarify that with you. I'm wondering also, especially considering Leoila's(sp?) comment, if racism and prejudice is "hidden" as it is here in the US? Some people like to boast and say that here in the "North" we don't have prejudice, but, I've heard enough first hand accounts to know that's a lie.

Stephanus,
of the "doesn't have kangaroos bouncing down his street everyday" class.
I found it fascinating, nevertheless, Steph. One point they did make is that most of the population live around the coastline, as the interior is too inhospitable.............they showed the truck trains and the 5,000 mile long fence they are maintaining to keep the dingo out of cattle and sheep herds.......and, one reason Aborginals make up 2% is that they've been genocided for many years..........they were there before Europeans made it a prison colony..........

Trade Centers/Pentagon
by Butters ini was wonderin' how you guys see the conspiracy of the trade center demolition and the attack on the pentagon?
it has been well established now some years later that there must have been detonation devices lining the elevator shafts of the three trade towers that collapsed.
after 1 and 2 fell, no one really ever questioned the way that 3rd one fell in the same manner (pancake collapse style, as a controlled demolition goes).

Every single one devolves into recriminations, tears, accusations, "Dumb and Dumber"-style slap-fights, and flame wars.
lol............that was well put UB.........it's sad that so many take such strongly entrenched positions that it gets so downright unpleasant for discussion.
Butters, JamesThomas here on the forum had an extremely interesting thread about this awhile back, including information about WTC #7.
