sad to say, but, most of the time no one gives a SHIT when we leave........yeah, there's the initial shock, but, face it, most of the jw's are so burdened down with day to day living, along with all the burden that the BORG puts on them.........we are just one less burden to worry about..........it's a fucking fake religion......extremely shallow and with the control that is placed on them..........

You can effect a Tipping Point.....
by sweet pea inplease prove to me i'm not posting in the graveyard shift....... besty and i were talking about password protected and family's exit this last few weeks.
we are full of admiration for the way that they have left with dignity and obviously made many think.
they have not faded, they had a good repuation until the very last moment - mark was an elder - but they stopped and made the decision to be up front and face the elders in a meeting.

I left my marriage AND the organization over 10 years ago, and it took GREAT courage and a deep belief that I deserved to be happy and that my decision was in my own best interest to do so. I had NOONE except my mom and the very few acquaintances I had made at that point for a support group. I also had a therapist. It was not easy. I spent many evenings and holidays alone. Looking back, I can see that it gave me tremendous self confidence and faith in myself and showed me that I can be okay on my own and independent. Of course, I have ALWAYS been a loner, never accepted by a peer group, even in school. But, the point is, NOW, I'm OKAY with that. To me, this is a precious possession. In my opinion, at some point in life you have to stand up for what you believe is right for you. Did people gossip about me? Absolutely. Did it do any damage to me? No. In fact, it just shows how small minded and NON CHRISTIAN these so called friends of mine really were. Today, I am a happy person. When I see former friends of mine, still in, they look extremely unhappy, and are physically falling apart at the seams. Me, I have a roof over my head, a job, a nice car and true friends who allow me to be who I am without judging. I also have been joined by two very good friends who were in my congregation, both solid families in the "truth". Moral of my story: Don't let fear stop you from doing what is right for you.

As of tomorrow I will no longer be a JW
by passwordprotected inafter my last post where i asked for advice on how to handle whether i should tell an elder that we've been going to church, i decided to tell a local elder who's related to me through marriage.
this was to save my dad having to 'report' me (i'd told my dad we go to church).
anyway, i had an interesting chat with him and he said some very personally revealing things re.

hey, Mark. Ten years ago, I arrived at "my" committee and after sitting down, just told the elders there who had been friends of mine for years that I wanted to spare them the time and effort I knew they were going to take and just let them know I had no intention of coming back, that I no longer wanted to be a JW. Technically, I DA'd myself, but, later they sent a DF letter to my residence.........whatever.........I've got no time for word or pyschology games. Just sooo glad I'm free from them and their judgemental, controlling, nitpicking religion. Go with your gut. You know what's right for YOU to do.

that was cute!!! lol!! here's a couple more on children:
Human beings are the only creatures that allow their children to come back home.
- Bill Cosby (1937 - )
The thing that impresses me the most about America is the way parents obey their children.
- King Edward VIII (1894 - 1972)
