@label licker: Ken Little is supposed to step down as Branch Coordinator when he turns 80, which I think occurs this year. Supposedly it's a new rule, once you reach 80 you have to step down, but I seriously doubt he will leave bethel, he's been there since the 1950s, he's got a nice "double" room that only the top seniority get. I wouldn't be surprised if Rod Jung is moved up, he's a good public speaker and seemed pretty chill based on the few times I talked to him and his parts at assemblies I attended, and I think he's in his 50's now. I forget what department he works in though. The rest of the guys on the branch committee are in their mid 60's to mid 70's too.
I thought Clayton Hanson was the treasurer, so I was surprised to not see him listed at all.

Has anybody got a copy of the older New World Translation ? (pre : the new simplified version ?)
by ukgirl inhey so i'm currently doing a uni project and making a film exploring my leaving of the witnesses.
i wanted to begin with an intro where i revisit the genesis account of god creating the heavens and the earth.
i remember it to be quite visually descriptive, so i wanted to take the account and illustrate it myself with narration over the top.

Here's a version of the site in January 2013.
That should be the old Bible. I used archive.org to go back.

@sir82: yes I was thinking the same, it does seem very low. But further down is a table that says they received $20,202,434 in tax-receipted donations and $14,526,065 in non-tax-receipted donations, which I guess would include conventions and assemblies. -

Just saw this on the ex-JW subreddit. On OpenCharity.ca, you can view WTBS Canada's financial info and in 2013 they received almost $9 million in donations. You can even see how much some congregations gave. The directors/trustees listed are all members of the Canada branch committee.

For people who don't get it, the OP is talking about the picture below. Some people think they changed the black guy because his hand (clearly his hand) looks like a penis. All I see is his hand holding his book. I believe that the guy was disfellowshipped and since this is a book used every single meeting they felt the need to change him to another person (the black guy is now an asian guy).

2014 Fully Accomplish Your Ministry-PDF!
by Atlantis in2014 fully accomplish your ministry-pdf!..
this file was not easy to get!
the informant had to carefully wait until each time his regular pioneer wife left the house to get into her service bag.

A Question for Underground Apostates, How Many Are There?
by Village Idiot inwhen i first came to this forum i was of the belief that those of us who were still in due to family reasons were few in numbers perhaps one in a thousand in the jws.
soon i came to the realization that there were many more.
we have dozens of posters here who are mentally out but still in.

I'd say maybe 1000 of all active JWs worldwide are active publishers but mentally out. I put my 2 hours in a month, nobody really talks to me at the meetings, i never comment, i get to the meetings 5 minutes late or just as the opening song is to be played, and leave within 5 minutes after the meeting. Some elders bother me about my activity but I just tell them I'll work on it and school's keeping me busy. I enjoy my "violent" video games and the occasional R-rated movie. I hope to be completely faded/disassociated within 2 years.
Even guys I knew who came to one or two meetings a month still seemed super in it, which i always found strange. I don't think I'll ever meet somebody else mentally out but still an active JW, it's too risky to admit it to others and then get ratted out.

Critique of new JW DVD: These Words Must be on Your Heart.
by WingCommander inhttp://youtu.be/dhn2to663cu.
im really channeling my inner blondie with my observation and critiques of these new watchtower videos.
something about them really turns my stomach.

I had to watch the video recently and it seemed like such a "upper middle class white family crisis" sitcom that there's no way a sane person would take it seriously. The rap/hip-hop was pretty tame, the lyrics were gibberish mixed with some cool beats, but noo in JW-land anything hip-hop related is Satan! Also I LOL'ed when the guy threw the weed on the counter. The movie was so over the top. Also the video is on their website now, and in 720p.
For those who didn't watch the video, its basically the JW version of this 7th Heaven episode.
Also, @b00mslang: hell yeah, the mom was a babe.

Lett briefly addresses the child abuse issues in new JW.org video
by Richard_I ini just read about this on the ex-jw subreddit.
link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.
as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

@Steve2: It took me a bit to understand what he was saying too, he repeats "takes action" twice which screws up his sentence structure. What I got from it was he's just saying "we protect kids and take action when kids are threatened".
@wannabefree: Maybe, but as some said on the ex-JW subreddit, this may be enough for JWs to just go "well that's all I need to hear, all these child abuse stories are just apostates lying" or some bullshit like that. But yes hopefully some really do start to think about why he would even mention something about child abuse.
Also, while Lett says "God's organization" protects kids from pedos, Richard Ashe said the opposite. "Within the congregation, ours is a spiritual protection, and we're talking about physical protection, and that's up to the secular authorities to provide." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1-kuAnYMTU
