What is your view of miracles

i am a born again christian, not a jehovah's witness.

i have had many experiences with god, hearing god's voice, seeing minor miracles, have seen a woman healed instantly through prayer in jesus name.

what is your view on the miraculous.

There was a story out of mexico of a person who had their head amputated from a truck rolling over their head. The church prayed for hours and the persons head came back onto thier body and they came alive again. God's power is unlimited, we as people are limited in what we can achieve but God is limitless. The bible says Jesus holds all things together by his own power, if he holds even our very atoms together there is no reason why he can't do the miraculous.

Witness my fury said "Ah but you do, ...you have eye witness testimony to at least one resurection of the dead dont you?".

I have not actually seen it with my eyes, but I believe the person who said they have seen it. I have seen miracles, and I believe other people who have seen them too. WHy is it so hard for you to believe God raises the dead, he did it when he was alive on earth. He said we can do the same things he did. I have seen healing, and heard God speaking, or had him reveal special knowlege to me. It is just logical to me that God can do the other things that he said he can do. 2pe 1:3 "his divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence".. it is my concern having read some post here that too much faith is put in the groverning body of the jehovahs witnesses.

the bible says that a believer has everything needed for life and godliness, through the direct revelation of god.

people don't need too have people to govern their lives, as god is the one who governs.. mans opinions are not always correct, only god is a refuge.

Perfect1 "If God is talking to you, it would be wrong for you not to write a book. That is what you do. Dont let Him down. Congratulations on being Divinely Inspired." God does not talk to me enough to write a book. I am not really divinely inspired as you say. Sure God has spoken from time to time, and done stuff that is of a divine nature. But I don't have anything worth writting about. A website, which I currently have, serves me well enough for now.

Witness my fury said "Raised the dead? Did you really just say that?"

It might seem forign to you, but Jesus raised the dead back to life. Those people who are born of Gods spirit can do the same miracles that Jesus did. Jesus said:

Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

God can do amazing things. WIth in our denomination there are people that have raised the dead back to life again. Healed people in wheel chairs and alsorts of amazing things. Just because I have only done one healing, and some other minor miracles does not mean they are unimportant. Anything God does is important.

I have quite a few kids that I am involved with in my family, and I don't teach them anything about miracles, I just play games. I don't say "Hey if you don't have miracles you don't know God". When children become old enough to understand the concept, as teens, I would probably share my stories, but I would not tell them they must have miracles. For youngsters I don't mind telling them God can do mirales though, and why not he can. Just becasue you don't believe in them does not make them any less real. And every miracle God has done for me has been of some benifit to me or others.

The Search said " God does not (as far as I am aware) go beyond the things that are written, and audibly speak with certain humans" I would like to direct your attention to the following scripture from acts.

Act 11:28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

God does indeed speak to people in the New Testament. He always has, there were many prophets in the bible who could be enquired of by kings etc. I am not saying I am a prophet but rather God still speaks to me from time to time. The bible also says:

Mar 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Miracles should be the normal thing for a Christia,n to not see them generally means the person is not dedicated to God, that the person does not spend enough effort to really know God.

I am a born again Christian, not a Jehovah's witness. I have had many experiences with God, hearing God's voice, seeing minor miracles, have seen a woman healed instantly through prayer in Jesus name. What is your view on the miraculous. Do you believe God does miracles today, if so has he done any for you or people you know. I have included a minor miracle below for you to read about from my life.

One morning I got up and walked into the hall and I heard a voice that I believed was God say "How would you like to be stabbed in the Valley". The Valley was known as the rough end of town, and the voice scared me a little, I wondered if I had done something to offend God. I had planned to go down to the Valley to ask people out to church as was my habit at the time. In the end I went anyway regardless of the fear. I walked up to the first person I met and asked him if he would like to go out to church. He said to me "I am an atheist, I don't believe in God". I just said "fine", but hoped to change his mind. He then proceeded to unbutton his shirt and showed me scar marks up and down his chest and stomach. He said to me, "I was attacked by a knife wielding man in the Valley some time ago and spent months recovering in hospital, How could God allow that to happen to me". Then I knew why God had said in the morning "How would I like to be stabbed?". God understood this man, but had a good plan for him. Some weeks latter this man came out to church and became a Christian.
