Josephus and Jesus
by jhine inon another thread wot i read a few days ago and can't remember which one, someone asked why josephus never mentions jesus .
at the time i had no knowledge of this so kept quiet .
however today while reading an excellent book (don't know if i should advertise but if anyone wants the title let me know ) i have found out that josephus mentions jesus in around about manner.

So Mary is alive attending meetings pretending to be a JW. Sounds reasonable. Did you immediately recognize her, and there was a beautiful reunion? Or did you get to talking and it was like . . .wait a minute . . . I'm Jesus, your Mary. . . . It's been too looong! Warm embrace . . . . hang on the songs starting, talk more after the meeting.
When she recognized you did she yell out "Jesus Christ!". That would be awkward, JWs can be a judgmental lot.
Just sounds like such a good story, I would love a few details.

If it is any comfort, according to the Watchtower, countless millions of innocent children who have never even heard of Jehovah or the bible, will be slain and left to rot on the surface of the ground so that loyal followers of the Watchtower can then work in teams to dispose of their rotting corpses. Being dissfellowshipped just puts you in with 99.9% of the rest of human kind who will be killed on that glorious day.
Thankfully much of the Watchtower is pure fiction so we can just take it for what it is, light entertainment. You may as well ask if James Bond or Austin Powers will get a resurrection.

How to tell family why you are no longer attending meetings?

my stress level has gone way down, and my life is pretty good right now.
well as you know, there are tons of nosy witnessess.

I have used a similar line with a couple of good friends in the congregation. They knew I had spoken to elders about doubts, and when they ask me what is going on, I just say that I am not in a position to talk about it and have been told to keep it to myself.

Yes he is Anthony Morris III, this is how it is written when he appears in the society's literature and DVDs. When I was waking up and researching the religion, I could not get over this guy. He is so repulsive to me I cannot express it in words.

Expectation postponed is making the heart sick. You expected this system to end many years ago. It keeps going on and on and on and now your heart is sick, and the religions teachings are really to blame because they have been building expectation and it is always postponed. You just need a break from the constant reminders of soon this system will end.
I wouldn't mind saying something like this to family or elders because for one it is a bible principle, and second it highlights the religon's error in building false hope and expectation. But like has been said, it is hard to beat those expressions like discouraged, stumbled, waiting on Jehovah.

There is plenty of reference to the GB being the Jeremiah class in my congregation. Brothers like mentioning it in prayers before the study.

Can 70 years be symbolic in the Bible?
by Pterist inin isaiah 23:.......tyre will be forgotten for seventy years....the span of a kings life !
in my morning bible reading i came across the above verse were 70 years is equated to the span of a kings life !
the wbts along will many seem to take a very rigid approach with dates and numbers and apply it to date setting end times etc, ...when it may be just a generalization.
