Is the Bible truly inspired?
by MrRoboto inso i was reading the book of daniel, starting with chapter 4 (nebuchadnezzar's famous tree chopping/banding dream where the 7 times is introduced) but i noticed that when you don't cherry pick verses and just read straight thru - it really seems like some children's book that was poorly written.
even though the borg says that this book as written by daniel, chapter 4 is clearly written by "king nebuchad·nezzar to all the peoples, nations, and language groups dwelling in all the earth" after the tree chopping business.
) of the rest of the chapters seem to be written in 3rd person (odd, if you are writing about your experiences).

Your donations at work: WT Farms “inspirational” corn maze
by betterdaze in“best life ever” is displayed at watchtower farms, near pine bush.
the jehovah’s witnesses' maze is a work of devotional art, and not intended for exploration like the pagan ones made for hudson valley tourists every halloween.

Biggest impact on humans
by menrov indo not know where to post this but i like to hear your views on what you think had the biggest impact on humans.
for me, 2 things:.
music: every human listens one way or another to music and will likely have some sort of emotion.

Music is incredible, I watched something recently where music was being used with some success to help those with Alzheimer's retrieve memories. The way music could evoke a response was amazing. -

Pause icon design
by The Real Edward Gentry inhello: back in the 60's, i knew a designer for the ampex corporation.
one day, f. arden farey, the manager of industrial design gave him the task to create an icon for pause since the company was marketing in foreign markets and the word "pause" didn't translate well in most foreign languages.
he looked at pause and finally decided that it was a "sorta" stop.

Ok...thanks..but...what is the relevance of this topic?
Have I missed something??
The topic has given you pause.
I've gleamed a valuable lesson about the success not being a JW can bring.

Were You Ever SHOCKED That Someone Got Appointed As An Elder?

A young fellow aged 26-27 who lived at home with his parents was appointed as an elder, and when announced from the platform, you could literally hear people in the audience gasp and whisper.. that's no exaggeration. Most people thought he was mentally retarded, he just wasn't with it... serious Asperger at the very least.
His father, who he still lived at home with, was an elder in the congregation... that's spiritual qualification right there.

Rest assured that in due time the Forces of Good will make all known. It has already begun.
I imagine you saying this in a Yoda style voice, and although you are not a Jedi Master, I'm sure you're very religious.
Are you a Jedi though, for real?

Finally what do you think about all gun owners being required to have gun insurance? Again I ask this question because none of those victims are protected financially for cost due to what happen to them. After all that is the reason we have car insurance in case we end up hurting someone with our car. To me this makes a lot of sense. If a gun is use to kill someone or hurt them at the very least the victim has some recourse to pay for medical or funeral expenses. I am really surprised the NRA has not come up with this idea
Shoot me in the leg! We'll play it off as a serious incident and make an insurance claim.
It could never work.
This is the way we all get raped with out CTP inurance in Australia, because so many are fraudulent.

And you can say well Australia did it, they haven't had a mass shooting since, well they also don't have trucks driving through crowds in Australia. Also I read somewhere that Australia now again has as many gun owners as it did pre 96'!?!?! I don't have a good answer, and being able to say that is intellectual honesty, not grasping at straws.
Actually, at the beginning of this year, we did have a lunatic speed his car through Bourke Street in Melbourne and kill 6 or 7 people, injuring many more.
Guns are rife in Australia still but most are legal gun owners. A semi pistol on the black market can cost $9000 or more. Spending $40000 on a sub machine gun is not appealing to those who contribute to low level style crime. So the illegal guns only circulate on a much smaller scale now, partly due to the massive cost of firearms on the illegal market.

Do they take the GB seriously?
by Tech49 inso this is an honest question that i have been thinking about for some time.. do regular jehovahś witnesses in other countries (other than the usa) take the governing body in new york seriously?.
i mean, i cant help but wonder about the publishers in japan, or south africa, or mexico, or new zealand, or even the uk, or spain, or italy...... or russia?.
not you and i (we know what you think of them), but the regular jwś...... do they take these american buffoons seriously?

I don't think Stephen Lett does the cult any harm whatsoever.....
In fact he could have become a well loved American actor/comedian if you ask me.
Sure, he is American I suppose. I also laugh at him all the time and if it's acting... he's brilliant.

marriage"equality" survey, Australia.
by zeb inthe australian govt has set out a survey to see if people are in favour of changing the marriage act to include same sex couples.. hm here have received their papers?
the survey promises to be anonymous but has a substantial bar code at the bottom... anonymous yeah right.. the marriage act once said "two people" then a previous prime minister changed it to say "man and woman" all that is needed to amend this situation as required by the gay community is change it back again to "two people" there, done and dusted.. and millions of dollars need not be wasted on this survey which is not compulsory as is voting in australia.
can anyone here who still goes to kh tell us if this has had a ruling from the platform?.

Younger Australians rarely use the post, whilst older ones are comfortable with it. It's the younger Australians that are more likely to want same sex marriage.
For this reason I believe the 'no' vote will win. Most of the older population will have there say but many young ones who would vote 'yes' simply won't be bothered to vote.
I think it's a joke we are wasting $ on this shit. The government is full of spineless hacks on both sides.
