Not meaning to sound sexist : In general are women more emotional/feel good about religion, and men more proof/doctrinal in their acceptance ?
by smiddy ini`m just speaking from my own experience here ,and it has occured to me that over the 33 years i was a witness and in the six congrgations i was a part of , except for a few exceptions, the majority of sisters in the congregations did not have a grasp of the so called deeper things of god, according to wt theology, sure they could run off " bible topics for discussion" sermons but very few could take a discussion any further than that.whereas i was aware that males seemed more likely to delve deeper into, not only the scriptures, but also the wt interpretations as a whole.
don`t get me wrong a few women left me for dead in their comprehension of topics ,but i`m just saying overall i found this to be the case ... my experience... smiddy.

Its both disturbing and a bit shocking to see people not realize the inherent corruption of the Watchtower Publishing House,
in all its mis informative ignorance, exploitation and indulgent manipulation imposed onto people.
Well said I couldn't agree more

A few were talking at a witnessing group a while back about world conditions, the system, how close Armageddon is and so on. A very elderly sister who is extremely spiritual/loyal to the org, said that Jehovah's people have been preaching for so long that he has to end it soon, just for his own reputations sake. I though that was fascinating but also a bit sad.
I think many elderly would not have contemplated death, expecting amargeddon first. My grandmother in her late sixties is in this category for sure.
I do think that this old generation is the last that will put up with it for this long. When the current 30 -45 year olds are 65+, I think the sense of urgency drum will have been beaten to death. Hopefully it will be even sooner.

Welcome Wizard. Awesome to have another currently serving MS join the ranks of the 'mentally diseased'. I am in fade mode also, my parents and other family are in but I am lucky to have awakened my wife with me. What general part of the world are you from?
Play it slow with your family, you might be able to make some progress with them if you do it right. I know how hard it is, you have to hold your tongue constantly when they get into the WT speak mode. I am interested to known how you still manage to do witnessing, do you think you will be able to stay an MS much longer? Do you give public talks?

'Your Fine Conduct Shines Like A Beacon In A World Where No One But Jehovah's People Are Any Good'
I like this one, it could easily be a legit talk title at a DC.
Imagine printing a heap of these and getting a bunch of men in suits handing them out before a convention. That would ease the pain of an otherwise hellish weekend.

I would agree. It is a generalization, but it rings true to me. My wife, mother, grandmother and most of my elder and ms friends wives are not into learning the scriptural reasoning behind the WT theology as much as the bro's. Not always the case but I know what your saying.
Rainy day in sunny SE QLD today hey smiddy? I use to love rainy Saturday's, gave me a legitimate excuse to miss field circus.

They donated the money, it wasn't a conditional investment deal. The money was given to further 'kingdom interests'. Nobody would have got a cent refunded.

607 - What is it all about?
by leaving_quietly insome of you here have a firm belief that 607 was not the fall of jerusalem, contrary to the wt beliefs that it was.
but, why is it important?
frankly, i just don't get it.

It's about some religious nutters back in the 1800's who were trying to attract attention to there teachings by speculating on scriptures and trying to find the date for Christs return. You probably don't understand it because it is all just crazy talk. It is a big obscure hidden bible prophecy that was apparently revealed by god to bible students in the last days.
Watchtower doctrines like 607 were pretentiously created and devised in order to attract attention from the public in supporting the distribution and proliferation of their literature.
Sadly for the WTS, the whole prophecy is flawed on so many levels. Jerusalem did not fall in 607, incorrectly applying Jeremiahs 70 yrs, the gentile times, year for a day, the tree image of Daniel 4 applying to gods kingdom and on it goes. . . . . . but never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Misquotes, Lies and deception in Watchtower Publications
by jwfacts ini have just finished an article misquotes, deception and lies and would like your comments, proof reading, and any other examples that you think are important to add.
most of these already appear on jwfacts.com within specific articles, but it is more powerful seeing them included together.
there have also been a number of requests over the years for such a collection.

Good article.
I'll second what Calebs Airplane said. Seeing Anthony Morris III fat smug face on that DVD gloating about the false predictions of the bible students is a joke. Fits in nicely with the rest of that DVD though, deceitful misleading bullsh!t spin.
There was a good one in the Jeremiah book recently, where they quote 607 and then make some reference to a historian trying to lead people to the conclusion that the 607 date is supported by history.
