  part 1 - protein functional redundancy.... part 2 - dna functional redundancy.... imagine you are teacher with suspicions that some of your pupils have been copying from each other.

  comparing the correct answers in all of their assignments might not provide conclusive evidence.

  they could simply claim they had all carefully revised the same textbooks so it shouldn't be surprising that they all gave the same answers.

  in the first thread in this series we looked at how the same protein molecule can be assembled by many different sequences of amino acids.. we took the example of cytochrome c and saw that there are many times more possible sequences than atoms in the known universe.

  however the sequences in humans and chimps are identical, and as we look at species less closely related to us by evolution the more differences we find.

  this is very compelling evidence for common ancestry.. in this post we are going to look more closely at the dna code behind those amino acid sequences.. the "language" of dna is made up of just 4 "letters" - a,c,g and t.. sequences of letters are read off in groups of 3 called codons.. acggcctcgaatgccttc would be read as acg gcc tcg aat gcc ttc.

  i intend for this to be one of a series of bite-sized ops on the evidence for evolution.. introduction to dna genes are sequences of dna made up of words (codons) each of which are three letters (bases) long.

  there are only four letters in the genetic alphabet (acg&t) each word or codon is the recipe for one amino acid.

  there are 20 different amino acids in living organisms.

  I think the problem is we have the posters on one side who accept evolution. They like to throw around evidence and discuss reality, and the financial status of these contributors matters little.

  On the other side of the table the No.1 brains trust is just too wealthy and prosperous to even take the time to debate with the lowly peasants who cry for evidence. Just to God damned wealthy.

  i missed the jw, history making, all new mid week meeting!

  and i am just so torn up over it, i've had a few drinks to drown my deep sorrow in, missing such a once in a lifetime event!.

  oh how can i ever get over, such a lost opportunity like that, just don't know if i'll never get over it!.

  I predicted a lottery number from a pattern, is the lottery NOT random or is random held to a universal force?

  i've studied and observed several lottery patterns.

  this one is now gone so nothing lost by revealing it.

  i had a certain history search and noticed that almost each week the past few months a list of numbers not used recently were being used 1 per week.

  Fishing and JW's???

  so i was just reading a thread and came across a completely new jw 'rule', that of not being allowed to go fishing!..

  at least it's new to me as i always enjoyed fishing as did others in my old congregation.

  anyone else heard of this or had this imposed on them in they're jw lives?.

  Plenty of JWs fish and I even know a few that hunt, on the east coast of Australia.

  Plenty of self-righteous JWs judge those who hunt or even fish.

  Is the Watchtower organisation facing the biggest crisis of its history?

  recent developments make me think they might be.

  the problems they are facing are not just lack of funds but also draining authority, and the two could be a heady and explosive mix.

  one of the best analyses ever written of the watchtower was a book called "trumpet of prophecy" by sociologist james beckford in the 1970s.

  I think the crisis they have, is simply a massive stinking pile of theology bullshit, that has been piling up layer upon layer for decades now.

  And didn't I read something somewhere about somewhat of a pedophile infestation or something about child sex offenders running rampant in the JW religion or something maybe on JW TV or in the JW org? Maybe something very serious that has been covered over and hidden from authorities somewhat? Surely they don't have lists of pedophile scum that they keep secret?? Could it be a crisis?

  so we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.

  he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.
