  dear false brothers and fellow servants of satan:.

  this is to inform you that the 4th annual memorial of freedom will be held next monday, april 14th, at sundown.

  please make arrangements to bring your own emblems--chocolate milk and pop tarts, or else some other food and beverage or "down, right strong punch" combo of your personal choice.

  i was invited by my parents, and even though i have nothing but contempt for this religion, things have been good in our relationship so i was considering going just to appease them.

  hi fellow speakers (sorry, brothers only!):.

  my first public talk, given in my early 20s, was actually a twenty-minute part of a symposium talk.

  my pioneer partner friend and i each had twenty minutes and a "servant" had the concluding part.

  my girlfriend cult handlers have gotten to her.

  they suggested she should no longer communicate with someone who's thinking isn't in line with jehovah's organization.

  we argued and she told me to go hang myself.

  You've woken up and smelt the hypocrisy for sure. There's lots here who have moved and faded successfully. I faded, then DA'd so can't really advise, only to say be true to yourself and never stop learning, oh and make happy times too

  Have You Been Invited To The Memorial?

  one of my best friend's, who is an ex elder had two elders visit him at his home yesterday to invite him to the memorial.

  he was cordial to them because they were'nt over the top.. so far, i have had no invites, thank god..

  Are you a good person?

  something happened this week to make me think about this again.. it feels like all bets are off and i really don't know what a good person is anymore.. when i left the jws i was so sure i knew what it meant to be a good person.. this has been revised many times since.. i tend to favour the utilitarian approach, the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.. sometimes you have to stick your neck out and say this is not good for me no matter what others may feel they need from me.. no idea where i'm going with this maybe this is a breakthrough in my life or maybe that glass of wine was stronger than i thought!.

  any thoughts?.

  To be a good person means to think of others. You can't always help but you can be there for them and do what you can in view of the circumstances you are in.

  I have made my decision

  i'm sure most of you have read bits and pieces of my story throughout the last year being on this site.

  i've decided as a human being, and as an adult, i'm going to make the decision on whether to stay with the jw religion or leave it.

  i of course have many doubts about the organization which has lead me to do research.

  Great decision, don't expect it to be plain sailing, but it will be worth it. Life is for living, not for being in expectation of a future that doesn't exist.
