Jehovah's Witnesses mentioned on BBC News site regarding not voting
by defender of truth injehovah's witnesses.
there are about 140,000 jehovah's witnesses in the uk who will choose not to vote on 7 may.. mark o'malley, a spokesman for the christian-based religious movement, said: "as you go through the bible we see that god's kingdom is already established in heaven with god as the king of that kingdom.. "we are politically neutral as, in a sense, we have already chosen to support that kingdom's government.
we see it as a real government.. "there are limitations to what governments can do, maybe they can improve the health system, but they can't prevent death, maybe they can help children, but they can't provide a secure future for them necessarily.

They won't vote but quite happy to take all the benefits the government hands out. -

I can't see Data why anyone would take exception to your post, it was an honest post. I can only assume someone pressed dislke by mistake
Back to the OP, did i read right that it was the elders that told the wife about this? Really?? Is that not breaching confidentiality, the very clause they use to evade being questioned by the police about pedophiles?!?!?!

Thoughts on My Exit
by losingit init has been some time since i last posted or even visited the site, and i wondered why that was.
life continued to be difficult without a network of friends to look forward to seeing.
the novelty of being disfellowshipped wore off, and the mundane advanced as it did every day.

Great post, you have found the real you. Well done. All the best with recounting the nonsense of JW org. Think of your girls and you'll make it. -

All the changes
by vinman inare their any newer people here, who recently found out ttatt, who has been disturbed by all the new changes in the organization?
it is turning into something that feels impersonal.
i know change is good.

I think you'll find throughout their history strange things and changes have prompted members to question their motives and helped them to become free thinkers. Its part of your journey. A lot will question but find it too hard to give up their little bubble, others realise there's a big world out here that isn't as bad as they've been told and burst through. -

New to all of this
by Ghiagirl ini was raised in the truth my whole life, my immediate family are jws and my moms mom is a witness as well as my fathers mom.
other than that the rest of my family are non jws.
i was raised very balanced, my parents never forced the truth on me or my siblings like most of my friends parents did getting baptized at ridiculous ages!

The Secret is out....but nobody cares
by MrTheocratic ini've been looking on this site for some time but never posted.
i'll give a little about myself, but not too much.
i'm a ex-bethelite ( brooklyn )and currently serving as an elder (10 years) (thinking about stepping down) on the service committee.

Welcome Mr T, an encouraging first post. When I was in it was stressed you must be whole hearted and even then you might not make it through the big A. Is that different now? Will token service get you through? I couldn't reconcile how half hearted ones thought they'd make it, I was all in, now I'm all out! -

15 Years of Jehovahs-Witness.com
by Simon inyes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.
i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.
the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!
