I just think she is trying to conform to being a 'good JW' and in order to maintain your friendship would love you to be one too. As good friends you need to say that you'll each need to respect that you have different views on religion and it's best not to discuss the subject

I Thing Being Friends With My Jehovah Witness Friend is Taking A Mental Toll On Me?
by TheNurseInBlack ineverything was great untill about two years ago untill she realized i wasn't a jehovah witness.
i didn't notice it before but now i noticed the next day she began to give me verses about the "truth".
it recently got worse with her religious debates lately i've been able to prove her wrong with most of them.

Now that you know
by Kool Jo inthis question is primarily geared towards those that are "still in" or trying to "fade" like myself....now that you know the "truth about the truth"...if their is someone that knows you or your family are associated with jw's and ask you for your opinion of the religion or ask about studying with the jw's...how would you respond?.
my reason for asking is that a girl i knew for many years now (since childhood) was invited to the kh by her coworker...she knew that my family and i are jw's since childhood...she went to the meetings and stated how she's learnt something new and she got "love bombed"...she's a fanastic girl and don't want her sucked into this cult...if she asks me about my experience as a jw, i want to be honest with her, but if i tell her how i feel, she may go back to my parents or the coworker and spill the beans...how would you handle it?.
the second part of my query...we know that the wtbs bashes education...here's my situation....i got a college degree, i have a decent job for my age with possibility of further progression...there were many persons who were critical of me for attending college....saying how i could go to bethel, or pioneer or some other rubbish...now that college is done and you're working...you're ask to help out someone in the congregation financially...even the person who was critical of you...the person fell on hard times and needs a hand with their bills...would you assist this person out of the goodness of your heart, or would you abstain from helping because they were critical of you during college?.

if she asks me about my experience as a JW
To me it sounds like she might not, if it were me I'd initiate the conversation and ask what she thought and wait to see her reation. If she then says she is thinking of going back, I would say "before you do, why not check out both sides of the story, you might find a few facts you didn't know about"
As to helping out, on this occassion it would be a conscious decision (how institutionalised does that sound!), but I would weigh up amount needed/why needed/who is it for etc.. Nothing wrong in being charitable, but another being taken for a mug

Sounds a bit like a 'marking' talk. A good result there, though you know they will be watching you closely and will DF you for brazen behaviour if they catch you again.

Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?
by booker-t ini have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.

Welcome Benjie (and family) to life on the outside. It is a good story because I can think of many people who are still keeping up the pretence and I cannot imagine the mental struggle it must be giving them. It is a lot easier that you have no family in the JWs, but even so, a big step and a worthwhile one.

be very careful regarding giving links to copywritten material on a public forum. the wtbs has in the past gone after websites for copywright infringement. Small quotes are ok due to fair use doctrine however cw works in their entirity is a no no.
But he only gave 14 seconds of anchorman, funny as it was, oh wait you were talking about......... (I must have a woman's brain trapped in a man's head)
