Can anybody upload the annual meeting recording already?!

there has to be atleast one elder here who was given the annual meeting recording, unless it's in some sealed box where every elder in the congregation has 1 key and all must open it at once, assuring nobody opened it prior to the day.

but if not, if one of you has it, be a boss and upload it already.

how funny if the whole thing was online 2 days prior.

The Two Governing Bodies

i remember when a gb member spoke at a circuit assembly, how the society would not pick him up for the airport unless he was dressed in a suit.

i found it a strange thing to say, because i believed him in charge.

but he was not.. of course, this is common knowledge, but im mostly typing this to make sense of it:.

If you ask a JW does the GB still run the Wt Corp they will say no NOT SINCE 2000 when they all resigned and turned over things to others

so "legally" they are correct, but in actuality its a different story

They want to create the outward appearance that these corp operate independently of them, well nice try

Have you ever heard of a SHELL COMPANY, where on Legal papers it appears that one entity controls the corporation but in REALITY it is controled by another

From time to time I will see persons raise the question about WT Stockholders or WT Voting members.

Does some wealthy stockholder have controling interest, and can PULL THE STRINGS of the org behind the scene?
As you will see it is amazing how the GB has this power thing down to a science

in my old hall we had 5 former Bethelites including myself on the BOE. The PO was a real local heavy.

While at Bethel he decided like some Bethelites he wanted to be a missionary- so he signed up and went to Gilead- and later married another missionary

They were pulled into the branch office were he was assigned as one of the three branch committee members. While there he was tapped by the GB to be a ***VOTING MEMBER***, so each year in Oct he along with all the WORLDS HEAVIES would fly into NY for the annual meeting
now back in the day along time ago----- one could actually BUY $$$$ the ability to cast votes on who the officers would be in the org
so a rich jw could indeed like within any corp that has voting members-- CONTROL who was installed as officers

THINK WALL STREET MOVE WITH MIKE DOUGLAS

So THE GB were like this method has to be changed so no one can control any officers in the wt corp
so the wt replaced it with a system that is exactly like the
Russian "Politburo"

Where VOTING MEMBERS are given nothing more than a honorific posts as a rewardfor their long years of service to the Organization and they KNOW HOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO VOTE

So how does that happen and what does that mean?
When i was at bethel you could sign up to go to the annual meeting and bring along guest, you could request 2 or 4 ticket and take your mom and dad or some friends-

but since it REQUIRED taking a Sat off Alot of bethelites didn't go, HEY MAN YOUR SAT OFF WERE LIKE GOLD
so if you went to one- you been to them all as we used say

Besides you would get all the NOTES AND EXP ON MONDAY from some guy who typed them up for everyone. so you still got the exp you could take back home or when you gave talks

as always someone jacks up the program, we had some bethelites trying to get 15/20 tickets and so with the bethel family increasing it was decided to limit it

some bethelites knew how to---- jack up stuff-- for other bethel family members all the time

While the annual "meeting" may last a couple hours, THE ACTUAL BUSINESS MEETING WHERE VOTES ARE CAST FOR OFFICERS only took about 10/15min

the reason why is because it was ALL RUBBER STAMPED and why

Well each and every person sitting there as a voting member was given their VOTING RIGHTS BY THE VERY MEN THEY WERE VOTING FOR- duhhhhhhhhhhhh
therefore Russian "Politburo"

and since many of them were either Current Branch members, CO DO or RETIRED CO DO AND BRANCH MEMBERS MISSIONARIES OR JUST LOCAL HEAVIES IN THEIR AREA
everyone there was there due to their UNSWERVING LOYALTY TO THE GB

so if you were a DO or CO or Branch member--
WOULD YOU VOTE AGAINST THE VERY GUY WHO ON MONDAY MORNING HAD YOUR "ARSE" ON A PLANE FLYING BACK TO ND?????

ok...so after this new light came out in the watchtower study over the weekend...a couple questions:.

1. why is the year 1914 still relevant to the doctrine?.

2. what would the effects be in they were to ever drop the 1914 teaching in the future (let's say 20 years from now)?.

If Jesus was a "NO (INVISIBLE) SHOW in 1914, then who selected the WBTS as the FDS in 1919. ?

The 1914 teaching is the foundation of their authority, that foundation falters the whole building collapses. Matthew 7:24-27....

They are NOT just another church that have restored original first century Christian TRUTH, they were selected as the ONLY channel of GOD to preach the invisible rulership of Christ in 1914 and are being used to separate the wheat and weeds and the sheep and goats before the great tribulation destroys anyone who refuses to join their organisation.....If Jesus did not show up in 1914, all this work is their own fabrication. Psalm 127:1

it is based on my personal experience of the watchtower's teachings as well as further reading of the earlier writings of russell and rutherford.. disclaimer - in my opinion, what follows shows clearly that the watchtower's doctrine of the ransom is not based on any sensible interpretation of scripture.

however i no longer believe in any version of theism.

The WBTS's teaching of "forgiveness of sins" has a very subtle way of actually DENYING the real intent of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in our "sinful nature".

The WBTS subliminaly teach that ONLY the 144K have the "SIN OF ADAM" forgiven or dealt with in their life. The effects is that the ADAMIC NATURE is killed (in their co-Christ's death) and they are given a NEW NATURE (in a Spiritual regeneration in a co-Christ's resurrection.) This NEW DIVINE NATURE wars against the old Adamic Nature and can be overcome. 2 Peter 1:3-4

Howeve, the "Great Crowd" do NOT get this opportunity as per WBTS. They have their past sins and daily sins forgiven but NOT the ADAMIC SIN ! They are just like old Israel under law and do their best to be good and follow the org's rules and regulations and strive to overcome sins in their OWN HUMAN EFFORTS. That's why they are NOT considered "Righteous for LIFE NOW" like the 144k

Christ's Jesus death and resurrection was not intended to put humanity back on a level field like back to were Adam was in the garden. His death and resurrection was to get mankind (those who accept the offer) to where Adam was INTENDED to be after he ate from the tree of LIFE (immortality) 1 Corinthians 15: The WBTS blinded me and most of their followers to this offer of Life "NOW" in this life, to be empowered to overcome the Adamic old nature, my sins and ultimately death 1 John 5:9-13 Thank you for allowing me to vent :) Shalom

I am looking for scans from a book

does somone have a library handy that holds the book: "the bible from the beginning" (new york 1929) by p. marion simms?

i have searched here in melbourne without success, and its exorbitant price tag means it won't be sitting on my bookshelf.

if you can find a copy, i need scans of pages 74 to 76. it would be even better if i could obtain scans of the immediate context.

I have recently read a book based on "Old Earth creation" called "Peril in Paradise" which the author Mark S Whorton compared two models/paradigms of creation - old- earth V new-earth, and his " perfect for purpose" paradigm based on old-earth blows JW's view of earth being the intended "eternal home" out of the water. If you get an opportunity to read this book, I would appreciate you views on it.
