Jeremiah 25:9-12 ....70 years is for Babylon to rule all the known area.
539 + 70 = 609 BC ...Babylon came to power .... Fourth year of jehoiakim/first year of Babylon
597 first year of Jedekiah and good figs exiled.
Fall of Jerusalem in eleventh year of Jedekiah = 586/7 BC

and we will be judged eternally by our attitude toward the gb/watchtower.. this morning i found in luke 3:33 that abraham is listed as a 'son of god' by his lineage from adam.. the son of isaac, the son of abraham,.
the son of terah, the son of nahor,.

This is what I was told to believe for salvation as a JW. Salvation and the good news is emphatic in Pauls words in Galatians 1:6-13. And Roams 1:16...this judgement is like the weeds separated from the wheat within Christianity. True Christians would have treated everybody Like Christwould.
NOT as Works FOR salvation but Works OF salvation....It is NOT a non anointed sub group of Christians slaving for a self proclaimed GB.
As regards Abraham and faithfully people of old, it states in Hebrews they were aliens In this earth, and DID not recieve the promises, but looked forward to the A HEAVENLY CITY. ....

Look at verse 13-16. All ancestors including Abraham Isaac and Jacob lived by faith for all their life. They did not receive the things promised until they died. But they were still living by faith. What didn’t they receive? They didn’t receive the land. They didn’t make a great nation through them. They didn’t see numerous descendants like stars. They didn’t see Jesus their Saviour. But they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. They lived like aliens and strangers on earth because they were looking for a country of their own. If they really wanted to go back to the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. But they were longing for a better country which means a heavenly one. Faith is looking forward to the kingdom of God. What was God’s evaluation about their life of faith? God was pleased with them. He is not ashamed to be called their God and has prepared a city for them. He rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Babylon may not have been destroyed as some expected, it lost its power, and it does NOT negate the fact that the 70 years were for Babylon to rule ALL the surrounding nations including Jerusalem. It did not have that power post 539 BC.
When the land of Canaan was conquered by Israel, they still have foot holds! so the wild animals were kept at bay. They were wiped out gradually.

as we read through the parable of the faithful slave, uttered by jesus, it is, a serious error, to do as the governing body of the watchtower society does, conclude that there is merely only one master at issue in that parable.
but a closer look at that parable, reveals that there are two masters in question in that parable, not merely only one.
It's a parable about faithfulness for All ...Luke 12:47 as Jesus told Peter !

The misunderstanding is the "meaning of the 70 years" .....it is clear from Jeremiah 25:9-12 its 70 years for BABYLON !!!,,

one of the ways the governing body justified its existence is saying that there was a governing body over 1st century christians based out of jerusalem.
now i know they dont have any real proof of this, in fact evidence is the opposite of this, but lets say for arguments sake there was a gb in the 1st century.

I believe that's exactly what it is. Peter asked Jesus who this parable applied to and he said at Luke 12:47
[47] "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. [48] But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Most scholars including the watchtower accepts that over threw Babylon in 539 BC
Babylons reign can now be calculated right from Jeremiah 25...

changing your religion for another or completely loosing your religion and or your belief in god, or turning to an agnostic point of view is really quite a big change.
for not wanting to state the obvious, when you change your religion, it changes not just the concept of religion in your mind, but your entire world view, or the way you perceive things work in the universe.
how does such an enormous change happen?.
notice in luke satan offered jesus all the kingdoms of the world, for one act of worship.

The rapture probably already occurred when the "ELECT" little flock were transformed to the spiritual Israel in the heavens, after the earthy temple was destroyed in 70AD and the end time judgement on Israel occurred. They became a blessing to the nations of the world, after their terrible tribulation and their martyrdom, Revelation 7 and 14. And 22:17
