jws believe the book of revelation offers an account of what is to come in their lifetime.
but the problem is that every generation for the last 1900 years has thought the same thing.
and, every generation has been wrong, even though each new one thinks it will be about me and my generation this time.. most reputable bible scholars believe that revelation, also called the apocalypse of john, was not written to describe the future for people living today.
Everybody would like to think so, especially hal lindsey, the WBTS and all the end time cults that made millions of dollars expounding on it.
I don't need to inform my learned friends the many different views and eschatologies that emerge from this highly symbolic Jewish book, suffice to say, that your salvation or pleasing God does NOT depend on any date setting, but on a life lived in God's grace.

I have no specific names, but in the past year or so, I like what I read from Preterists and more precisely Partial Preterists.

Yes jgnat, the WWCG is a good example. I personally believe they went more mainstream for accreditation purposes for their Ambassender College in Pasadena. I attended some of their meetings at the time of the fall out, the elders where shell shocked, and became bewildered and cynical. A foreshadow fot the WBTS I asked myself ??

Many groups that came out of the same Advetist movement continue to grow. The SDA movement to their credit put more emphasis now on maturity in Christ and spiritual growth.
The WTBTS seem to be moving more in that general direction as their date base gospel they inherited is their now "Waterloo" and they are anticipating a big loss in numbers, as they consolidate in all areas, while protecting their "holdings" with ever increasing tighter control. They will survive, as the "die hards" will have no other option.
i know what the statement means im just baffled why anyone would select words like "belong" or a that they are a "servant" of jesus ?.
i mean ive never heard anybody say they belong to their parents or their spouse, so why are they property of jesus as in servitude ?

I had a problem with authority most of my life, all hypocrites, the Jesus of the Bible is the ONLY person I would die for. He led by example not by lip service.

It appears that this dispute arose after Jesus had washed their feet and exhorted them to do likewise. How quickly they forgot and instead began jockeying for position and power. So Jesus challenges them once again to think and act differently from the world. Serving should be seen as a high honor and in keeping with the very character of God.

The fallacy is that there is TWO starting points for "new light" and maturity.
As Christians we see the debates over circumcision and fellowship in the new creation (Jew and Gentile). There was no other major issues except to live a Godly life thought grace and Christs power and to identify who and what Christ was 1 John 1:1-5 ...the Eternal Life of God in the Flesh... 1 John 4:... The apostles and first century Christians gave us the NT .....Food for ALL time from them as they were the FDS that left us the NT..
When the separation of the wheat and weeds was/is carried out, did you notice the wheat was/is MATURE...no further feeding required.....
The WBTS would have us believe that this was ANOTHER STARTING POINT for feeding and new light, getting brighter, something that was condemned by Paul in Galations 1:6-13.....was there a ANOTHER STARTING POINT in 1874, 1914, 1919 ...NO ! There lies the fallacy.
The reformation and the reforms always took us BACK to what the early Christians believed NOT something new, and speculative. The WTBS's fruit is seen in all it's failed phophesy.....

I thought I read somewhere that they tried to buy up all KHs ??!!,
And is this typical world wide ?

i have seen debates and shizzle about god or not god etc etc.. i was even confronted by an aggressive and trheatening muslim in the street, who was angry that i wanted proof that god existed.
