I think you're doing a great job giving him information but not too much guidance, Terry. It's true that at 19 he probably still has to develop more independent-mindedness. But think of your own guidance as merely offsetting all the undue influence that the other adults in his life are having -- in his family, at the Hall, etc. Balancing that out a bit is totally warranted. Most of us born-ins never had an opportunity like that, to hear a dissenting, informed viewpoint, while growing up, so we bought into what all the adults in our life were telling us.

Well, I don't disagree that blue can be a calming color or that it might promote trust in some circumstances. It's heavily used in computer applications, perhaps to keep frustrated users from losing their temper

Creationist Should Dismiss Genesis Quickly
by Coded Logic inchris tann,.
in your earlier post you seemed to be under the impression that genesis and science were somehow compatible .
however, the truth is the two are not reconcilable at all.

I'm very curious what definition of complexity you are using.
Physical complexity. The molecular make-up of the hard drive. You cannot be seriously suggesting that material is being added to a hard drive when it "fills up" with data. It's just magnetic bits being flipped. Likewise, the circuits in the computer are either powered or unpowered, but are equally complex either way.

I didn't read the article, only looked at the color chart, but... it's not very good.

There is no definition of complexity that would even suggest...
Physical complexity. Not informational complexity. The whole reason I brought up CPUs (which Caedes then changed to the subject of hard drives for some reason) was as an analogy to the human brain. Neither a computer or a brain is more complex physically when processing information than when it is not.

For any believing Witnesses who are reading this, please don't think that this thread is representative of the entire ex-JW community. Please.

That Mormon guy looks totally insane in both the "before" and "after" pictures. His eyes are following me as I scroll down the page.

Your favourite WTS publication?
by LoveUniHateExams ini realise that starting this thread may make me as popular as a ginger stepchild but was there any wts publication that you liked, or at least comfortably tolerated?.
my memory may be deceiving me but i think the greatest man book was pretty good, leaving out the gruesome detail of the crucifixtion and wts doctrine.. also, can anyone tell me the list of books that ray franz authored/co-authored?.
thanks.

I enjoyed the Greatest Man book and the Revelation book. Hey, I was a kid when it came out, cut me some slack. I liked the vivid paintings and I liked the way they included each verse in boldface in the paragraph that discussed it. It was an appealing layout.
