  any day could be the last day of our existence... with that in mind, how would you want to spend your final hours, if you knew that your life was going to end tomorrow?

  Indeed, I can see from your avatar, WMF! ^_^ I think Amelia Ashton might be the same as us, from comments I've seen her make.

  Do you care to expound on what you mean?

  Well, first off, I don't have anything against people -- it can be enjoyable to have company -- but I just don't feel any need to reach out to others. I always have something to do or think about, so I've never been lonely or bored for a minute. I'm honestly not entirely sure what those words mean! It's like someone saying that they feel purple; you know what purple looks like, but what is purple like as a feeling? :-) I've heard that a small number of people are just born this way, but I haven't found a textual reference to back me up on this.

  Was Judas present for the passing of the emblems?

  memorial is this tuesday.

  while explaining the significance of consuming the booze and bread it is quite likely the speaker is going to make a passing remark about how jesus made sure that judas would not be present to partake.. of course he won't explain his reason for saying that.

  but here is some food for thought while you're stuck sitting there listening to it:.

  Well, in all fairness, the occasion Paul is speaking of in 1 Cor. 11, if it's the same event, was clearly communal. Unless you're implying that Jesus himself didn't intend for it to be that way.

  I'm always alone, but never lonely :) I'm basically a cat in human form. I don't have any partiality or attachments to anyone. So I'm probably not the best person to be answering your question! Let's hear from some other people.

  Flipping out at the meeting

  unfortunatley, i still go to many meetings as i am working on getting my wife to wake up.

  for the most part i maintain my composure but there have been two or three times when i actually have gotten so upset and the frustration built so high that i have come very come close to actually slamming something down or pounding the table in the literature room, or shouting out how i felt!

  has anyone else felt this way?

  I haven't gotten angry at the meeting yet. I've been tuning out pretty much anything people around me are saying since childhood, so I hardly even notice what's happening at the meeting. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

  I don't think I'd have any desire to say anything to anybody. I'd probably use the time to finish this book I've been trying to get done reading, drink lots of hot tea, and just enjoy some peace and quiet.

  It's a good argument. I also feel silly for thinking the little flock was the obviously-figurative number found only in Revelation. You'd think Jesus could have said something about a number like that while he was on Earth. As the writer points out, 144,000 was not little in Bible times; that may have been larger than the population of Jerusalem at the time!

  That being said, is this a common interpretation? Because I've seen it suggested that the little flock were the Jews and the Gentiles were the other sheep.

  Yeah, I figured it had to be Brooklyn, what with the temptations of the city and all. I'm pretty sure I passed at least one prostitute while out in service there with a local congregation, it's easy to see how it could have happened.

  During a "Bible Highlights", I got up and walked out. They were taking Ezekiel's instructions not to mourn his dead wife in public and applying it to shunning DFed people.

  Wow, that's a pretty good reason to walk out. The speaker said that, or it was a comment?
