"Crises of Conscience"
by Olivia Wilde ini just finished reading chapters 11-12 of raymond franz, crises of conscience & i must admit, i am pretty strong person, however the way ed dunlap & ray franz were treated left me crying, i had tears rolling done my eyes driving home from work on friday... & how ed was kicked out by wt, left me feel soo disgusted & outraged.... it was very obvious he needed to stay at bethel because of his age & medical conditions but i admired he didn't compromise his conscious, it's sickening to me how cold & callous these men can treat a christian after all his service.... & of course ray franz situation was no exception either, the witch hunt they did to get him out was, well, there's just isnt enough adjectives to describe their disgusting motives against him... he was 59 yrs old trying to make a honest living with his wife & for them to go after him was devious & demon like.... i'm soo grateful i came across this book & i wished i had much much sooner.... i know god will reward both ed dunlap & franz plus many many more who have been unjustly & unchristian like treated during that time & this time, sooo sickening.....i still feel very much upset & emotional over the whole thing .... i never met any of them & then yet i feel deep christian love for them......

I agree, if you can read english, you got far more input. And the older light is unknown, or the crazy trash they write. So for example, that woman maybe getting mans in the new world. Also a lot of texts sounds in other languages not so crazy. Maybe they wrote it in english, a shitstorm came up and the translation was "optimized".
The languagegroups often far away from the typical congs. More fun, but often also full we special people. If a guy in a languagegroup do a little bit more, he gets very fast MS or elder. So there a lot of people looking for the expressway to the top.
You don´t have jwfacts in other languages, but nearly every bigger language got some sites with the main informations. A lot of stuff gets translated. So "Shadow of Sin" - you can look it also in german. It's harder to get a JW to look at theses sites.

Thanks for sharing. Thanks a lot. Sorry, but I can't find words, for everything you see at bethel. But I was there, when I travel to NY - it was a wtf-moment for me. Even as a visitor, I wasn't feel like a house of god, more that you near the hell. They also talk so much stupid crap to me, when the guide you thru the building.
Maybe here should be a RIP-Topic or -section. A collection (sounds bad, sorry, I don't know a better word), for every person whon killed by the watchtower. No discussions, only a place to remember people this cruel society killed with there rules.

Donating to Charities
by stuckinarut2 inso donating to charities has always been discouraged by the society, as it is a form of support for this "doomed" system.
and of course, "the kingdom" is the only "real solution" to all the problems right?.
but in the meantime, this view gives witnesses a "free pass" from the normal human desire to help out those less fortunate, or ones who were born in another part of the world where life is not as privileged as our own.

I spend my money for microcredits. The good thing is, you see who gets the money, you see if it helps and so on. It's nice to join something like kiva - it's make me feel good and you can help with little money. And it's not like giving money to the bOrg, there is no black hole, where the money went. -

How far will they go?
by careful ini've been drawing back lately and looking at the big picture going on in the org, somewhat like slimboyfat has also been doing, but i am wondering about different possibilities.
so the current gb has modernized recently in various ways.
they have done a strong and sudden about-face regarding the electronic world, from viewing the whole thing suspiciously and condemning bros. use tablets from the platform to suddenly embracing them and causing the r&f to do so to such a degree that old ones are spending hundreds of dollars to buy devices that they have no clue how to use; they have heavily embraced this media for their message, very much like the churches have been doing for years, especially with their jw broadcasting and their caleb and sophia animations.

Allowing facial hair, absolutly. Their some reasons: they get rid of wrong teaching, but this is not the main reason. What do a guy, awake, full in, MS and active to step down without giving a reason and don't get in trouble? Grow beard. What do a guy who like to show that he like to make trouble? Grow beard. What do a guy, who like to show how he thinks about all the stuff without telling to much? Grow beard. Sounds funny, but beard means mainly, you can think on your own and won't be afraid, even if they preassure you, to shave. You rebellious. So, if they say: "Brother's, you can grow beards, if it looks serious. Sisters, sorry, you not :)" they maybe start a hype. Something they don't like, but they make a point against the "revolution" from inside. There also some "bearded congs", like my cong. It's interesting to see: if one from the higher once stands up (MS) and grew a beard and nothing happens, there's a hype. The young guys starts also to try to get bearded, after a half year, they can't turn back, or they have no MS and so any more, if all bearded guys have to shave or step down. And I know the MS very well, nobody make stress about it. But he was waiting for it, he was very sad about it ;).A lot of people from the cong tells him, that he look much better.
So, grew a beard if you in - we will be part of the "little flock". When it's allowed, you could only be part of the "big flock". :)

Hi pile2222,
there a lot good books outside, but english is not my native tongue (- so sorry, sometimes my writing sounds a little bit wrong). If you wan't some input to think about structures: Orwells 1984, I love the book. For understanding how evil they lie to you: Johnssons book about the gentile times. And CoC.
Which bible is hard to say, mainly it depends on what you like and where you live (language, translation). Main options: take an older translation if you like hard to read but very accurat text. If you like a happy and easy to read option, take a newer and free translation. Or buy some cheap used - and look which you like. There also a lot of apps out there, some with a lot of translation also some interlinear bibles for free. Maybe it helps, to start with the new testament. And yes, I think the NWT is poison. A bad and biased translation.
If you like to start your day with novels, do it. Take happy once ;)
There also some websites in different language, for believers they be or been JW and like to follow him without preassure.
What means hard to you? Maybe you read the words with a JW-point-of-view. Follow Christ under attacks from JW? Live undercover?...? Rise a child as christ and not as a JW? This all is hard, but not in the way you learn it as JW. There'll no scoring, you not get judget by your preaching time or something like this.
I often try to leave this point of view beyond me, it don't work always. Im a born-in, baptised at 14 more then 15 years ago, also have to be active, so it's not easy for CFL all the day. Hope to fade some day. But one think, maybe helps you. Do your research step by step. If you a beliver, don't look at everything at the first time, e. g. what the GB does, first check, if the appointed to make decissions.

The door is locked, yes. So people can't come in. But, even if it's locked, nearly every door got a panic-handle. So, if there's trouble, you come out of the hall with no delay. Also, I think it sound strange, but no big deal in reality and I'm fine with it.
Also the mainentrance to the hall and parkinglots locked, also for safetyreasons. It's easier, to sit in the cong an to know: your car is safe, you can be sure to leave as fast as you can. :D
And anybody knows the moment, you too late and have to ring the doorbell at the cong? When you step inside, all eyes looking at you. I loved it.

Hi pile2222,
I'm new here also. I see this: you write that you don't do anything for getting to the new world. I don't wan't say, belive in god or not. But your thought based on JW-teaching, guilt, fear, death for all non-JW. Counting time, give money, hate everything outside is a pure JW-thing. Live a good life, care for others, take care for your daughter, love her. That what you read in the bible, in other books and what normal people do. If there a god - a decision you have to make on your own, for your own - then he's not like the CO, looking thrue papers and read about your hours, magazines and so on.
And if you read the bible, don't take the new world translation. If you read something from the Org: stop reading all the guilt-trip-magazines, the daily text and so on. If you like to read some religios stuff in the morning or so, take other stuff or read direct from the bible. Worked for me very well.

If you think, they only doubt about elders and not the other stuff, talk with somebody about broadcast. Start with a new one (don't look it, read about ;)). Then go on to the new explanation of the generation. Most of the people you talk to, say, they don't belive, it's BS or there will be soon new light. You don't have to show that you think it's wrong. Only mention new light, hard to understand...
To talk about something like the generation that not pass, and that it's unlogical what they told - I can't imagine to talk in this way 10years before.
Hope to wake up a friend very soon. Or maybe I'm caught after it.

I talked sometimes before with an other MS about CoC - he read it on his tablet and I tell him I like this book, we make jokes about 607, he always make a comment, that he's shure, that I "liked" the cong when they try to grap money. So we talk very easy about a lot of things.
Even when I talk -even with elders- about australia and other stuff, until now, nothing happens.
The young MS's in my cong bearded. 3-day-beard and one fullbearded. The last one, serve as MS, pray also on sunday. He make the other young guys grow a beard. So yes, underground movement is growing, but a way to connect is missing.
