  My girlfr and I went to the Assembly Hall today

  5 years removed from being inside the indianapolis assembly hall of jehovah's witnesses, 4 years from attending a meeting at the kingdom hall, this morning my girlfriend and i walked into the assembly hall.

  we were taking an early morning walk in our jogging clothes in downtown indy.

  she asked if there was anywhere i'd like to go.

  RAMBLE on my dear. Some might refer to your rambling on as remonissing(did I spell that right). There is nothing wrong with retracing your paths that you took through life. As a matter of fact, it takes courage to do this. Ask yourself this, DID YOU GAIN ANYTHING FROM THIS? You probably looked around and remembered how secure all this use to seem and yet thought how useless it really is now. You have grown my dear one and you will continue to grow.   How to defend against shunning

  we all know that for the most part, many of the people on this board would be shunned in the presence of a active witness.

  since this is a form of projecting negative energy, we should be aware of ways to counter these methods and protect ourselves from doubts and self destructive thoughts.

  I'm with you 99.9% on this. It's true, you show them that you are the same loving person that you were when you were a JW and it really takes them back a bit. I saw a sister just the other day and I spoke to her, and she spoke back. I could tell it hurt her that she didn't say more to me. I left it up to her to make more converstion, I know she was embarrassed. She's a woman who had been through numerous negative situations in her life and we helped her through so many of them. The other JWs just talked behind her back and never helped. I still love her and hope that things are going better for her.

  Come on you guys and dolls. How many years did we wait for Armaggedon, with the hope of a paradise earth? How many hours did we put in service? How many meetings did we attend? How much money did you give? How many sacrifices did you make for the WTBTS? HOW? HOW? HOW, can you give up so easily on Dateline? Yes, I want it to air as much as anybody, but look at the time span and what has been going on since Dateline has been in the picture. The Catholic church as well as others are being underfire and this can only add more fuel to the the fire against the 'org.'. It'll happen, don't be too impatient and don't give up.

  Now, when did they say it was gonna air again? Just kidding.

  Love being in this place!

  My favorite is SPELLBOUND, MY HUSBAND ALWAYS BUYS THIS FOR ME ON OUR ANNIVERSARY. He'll get me other gifts, but Spellbound is a tradition.

  Hoping for a many years of Spellbound in the future. I love Chaps & Stetson on him, and if not his 'scent' is mighty fine to me!

  ...not a witness yet, not a witness yet...That's a good sign. Do you ask your study conductor questions, concerning the info that you glean from the friends here and esp. the Bible or do you just take for granted what they tell you. I use to ask 'all' the questions, however, the closer the friendship got I stop questioning and just started accepting. Can't believe I became a mental sponge...I just absorbed everything they pored on me. I develpoed a strong sence of trust in them and stopped thinking for myself.

  But, I sure do love the family that studied with me. They are the nicest, kindest people I know, but, I have realized that if they were Baptist, Catholic, etc. they would still be the same kind of people. Even though they don't talk to me or my family, I still LOVE them, cause that's just the way I am. There are others in the org. that I do not care for because they are not good people at all.

  Vi, ask questions and be firm in seeing that they are answered correctly and DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, PLEASE.

  Ridgetown(SP),NJ

  i understand from usa today that ridgetown or whatever the place is called in new jersey in the usa that they have designated a stay at home/family kind of thing(everyone stays at home with their family doing things instead of going out to the cinema etc etc).

  will the jws go knocking on doors, disturbing people from their rest on those days?

  That's what the LDS (Latter Day Saints)do . Everyweek they have a family night, where they just do things as a family. As JWs we use to tear that apart by saying everynight is family night.

  Monday night=study together for Tuesday night book study.
  Tuesday night=attend book study
  Wednesday night-make a few RVs and study & prepare for Thursday night meetings.
  Thursday=get ready and attend meetings. (get home late)
  Friday=prepare for Saturday service.
  Saturday=Service till 12:00; study Watchtower for Sunday WT review.
  Sunday=attend Sunday meetings; lunch; RVs and calls.

  I'm sure I left something out, but this is just what you did as a family for the org. This doesn't include the kids prepareing for school and doing homework, normal daily activities, ect.

  Yeah, we really did a whole lot for our JW family nights, don't you think?

  I saw the program 'Sins of the Fater' with Connie Chung, it was documented really well. The man who was the guest, was sexually molested and kept out of court (never turned over to the police), however, later found out that he Catholic church just moved him somewhere else, where he was still in close & constant contact with young boys. He said the church has the responsibility to take action, remove, and protect all. He basically was saying the same as SILENTLAMBS.

  Funeral for Grandmother

  i havent been around much on this board the past week for this reason.

  last saturday we received a phone call telling us that mrs thirdsons grandmother was close to death and that we should get over to the residential care facility if we wanted to say our goodbyes.

  most of the family had arrived and were keeping vigil.
