Spot on. This is exactly the conclusion I came to as I was half-listening to the watchtower study this morning.

Jehovah's Secret past life............. by the way no one told me he was married.
by 5go inactually i had known about the wife part i didn't know that the tetragramaton had been found on a wall in egypt next to heirglyphs hat talked about a town named jehavah (really they called it yahu but it was the tetragramaton anyways) i thought it intering yahu was the god of war.
his wife asherah, (which yahu's cult tried to destroyed all mention of her) was the goddess of love and procreation.
explains a lot, a whole lot when you think about it!

It got to be hard being a JW today!!!!
by jam ini can understand why they think the end is near.. in the old days, one was proud to be a jw (well maybe.
not for you young ones) but for us that came in the 60,s.
and 70,s, we felt no shame in our game.

When the only thing stopping you from leaving is your love for your immediate family, and one or two friends. Yes, it's damn hard.
I still think I'm just going to crack up and go crazy one day...if i haven't already.

I need some serious advice...
by confusedteenager ini'm almost a year out of high school and of course, i'm not in college.
i'm a pioneer (sigh) with little to no work experience and having a really hard time finding any work.
i want to go back to college, but it's going to be difficult now that i'm a pioneer, and my parents cannot really afford the loans that will incur should i pursue going to college.

Wow! I can't begin to thank you guys for all of the really great advice. You guys really mean well, and I do appreciate. A little update, I am in the USA for everyone who is asking. And I'm actually going to be heading down to a community college today to see how about applying for a Business associate degree. It's not exactly what I ever saw myself doing, but it is a start, and like a lot of people are saying--it's better I start somewhere. For now I will be living with my parents, and they actually are okay with the idea of me going to college. They just don't want me to give up pioneering. I don't know exactly how I am going to do both, but I will work it in somehow. There are some pioneers I know that work full-time and still pioneer. My main thing right now is not to focus on that though. I just want to get my education and work towards getting a good paying job, so eventually...when the time is right...I can move out. :)

Thank you everyone for the sound advice. I definitely have a lot of research to do as I contemplate what the next step is. Ultimately though, I think I am planning on attending a 2-year community college start out. The next step is just to figure out what exactly, how to go about it, and also long-term whether or not I actually want to fade from the organization.

What are some alternatives? I know I cannot stay in this situation forever. Sooner or later I would like to have a steady paying job that would afford the ability to move out of the house and start living my own life the way I want to...but right now I just don't see how I'm going to go about doing this. I don't even know what kind of career or field I want to get into. It's really stressing me out. I feel like my life is just in limbo right now. Seriously just going through the motions, when I really want to start making things happen.

LOL! Thank you very much for your commentary, you honestly could have kept going.
How do they "discern" what bible prophecy reveals? I would like them to give us a specific process that they go about coming up with this new "understandings". They just make that statement without any basis or information that really backs up what they are trying to pass as facts.

My brain is dissolving into mush dissonance_resolved so don't worry, you are not alone. I slyly just commented to my father, telling him that there are some really confusing things in the new study magazine. It is my hope that maybe his critical thinking skills will finally click in. This stuff just does not add up.

Here's one of many things I do NOT understand: If the wheats and the goats are going to be judged during the great tribulation...then why is it necessary for there to be a second round of judging during Jesus' millenium reign?

They used words like "perceived" and "discerned" to introduce their new ideas...which are just that. IDEAS.
If they were honest, and admitted that it is in fact just ideas, and not facts sent straight from heaven, they would be a lot better off.
Especially considering alot of these ideas are just bizarre.
