Yeah the only bible study I have is the one I conduct with my sibling. Which is basically just us preparing for the meetings. The brothers said I can count that as a study.

Hey welcome! I too am a young one (eighteen, baptized when I was 12) still inside the organization (regular pioneer to be exact), going through the same doubts as you are.
This is definitely one of the best places to get some of your questions concerning the org answered. :)

Is this a new low?
by Darth Eowyn injust had a couple of jws stop by my house.
they had been before several times and know that i'm a pretty devout catholic, so i'm sure they were just swinging by to get more time for the card.. well, this time the opening line was about the tragedy in ct. i mean, really?
you're going to try to get converts by capitalizing on this tragedy?

That's how we were instructed to open our presentations today as well. Felt pretty crappy even bringing it up at the door. But we are supposed to be offering them "comfort".

Watchtower's Armageddon vs Sandy Hook
by LostGeneration inslidin fast made a great post yesterday about the elephant in the room, the fact that the wt teaches millions of innocent six and seven year olds are doomed to die if their version of armageddon comes about.. that coupled with a brief, stupid conversation with my jw father this morning where he asserted "we really need jehovah's kingdom" in response to the shooting led me to investigate how many six and seven year olds would be killed at armageddon.. according to census.gov there are about 243 million six and seven year olds alive in the world.
all of them doomed to die, according to wt theology.
(well, lets give them 1 million jw kids, even though that probably covers all jw kids, not just 6-7 year olds).

Wow..
But logically they would argue that God can read hearts and would find a way to spare those innocent Children...right?

It's disgusting, but honestly, whenever there is a natural disaster, the only thing the organization ever worries about is whether or not any of "our people" were affected. They don't pray about hundreds and possibly thousands of non-witnesses that may have been affected or lost their lives. It's all about J-dubs only. That's what I've noticed.

The Early Morning Field Service Scam.
by I quit! inearly yesterday morning i was driving through town on a street that rearly has any foot traffic and never at 7:30 am on a sunday morning and there they were.
a group of jbubs milling about counting time.
i drove a little further and there was a second group walking slowly down the street in the morning drizzle.

Wow. It's amazing how much I agree with everything being said here, and how much I take part of it. As pioneers thats all we do early in the morning, find ways to make as much time as possible. We sit on the bench at 7:30 morning and talk ourselves to death while keeping our magazines on our laps. I actually try to offer people literature whenever I can, but 99 percent of the time, it is all unproductive. And it's ridiculous how much the brothers focus on our numbers. One brother in my hall got on me because my return visits were down last month, and began showing me different methods that can be counted as a return visit. Apparently we can count emails and TEXT messages (even if it's just a few words) as a return visit now. They say it's so that we have no excuse as to why we "cannot make the time".
But, I see it as a way to just make us more lazy then ever.
I don't know. It's crazy.

Thank you everyone for the great advice! I know my heart isn't in this organization and eventually I will probably make the decision to leave, but for now I guess I need to confirm that notion, and then figure how to go about making a "plan b" for myself as many have suggested. Fading in time definitely does seem like the better option then just leaving. We shall see. By the way, I'm eighteen, for those who were asking.
Thanks again everyone! :)

Thanks for the welcome guys. Here's a little back story:
Unfortunately, I have been baptized in the faith since I was 12, so there isn't much room to beg off as Jgnat would suggest I do. I gave up going to college in favor of pioneering, with the support of both of my parents, and pretty much have dedicated my whole life around this organization--with the doubts already culminating in my head. As I said, I've been reading on this site and other "apostate" sites for some time now--at least three or four years--and actually went through a period of time where I was going to the meetings and expressed my disbelief in the organization or in GOD period, obviously something my family wasn't happy about.
What happened about a year ago is that I realized that I was going to lose my family, and most of my friends, and this made me very depressed. So I resolved to come back to the organization and in my opinion come to back to Jehovah, even though I had already read so many things about the scandals, and the misinterpretations of the bible, and the dishonesty in general. I figured maybe Satan was just blinding me into believing these things, and for a time I did feel happier when I started going back to the meetings and turning my life around.
Now I'm in my fourth month of pioneering, and I feel like a complete and utter fraud because I'm just not certain about anything anymore, but I don't want to lose the relationships I have. I see the contradictions in the congregation, and I don't feel like any holy spirit is there, but it seems like I don't have anywhere else to turn right now.
As my username states....I'm beyond confused. >.<
Eitherway, thanks again guys. Hopefully something will click.

Hey,
I've been lurking on this website for a few years now and finally made an account. I have serious doubts about the organization in general and still have not made up my mind about what to believe. I'm constantly learning and trying to convince myself.
In any event, hope I can make some nice friends around here to help me along the way.
Name is Nancy by the way. :)

Confidential Materials!
by Atlantis inall documents of important nature such as, our kingdom ministry, boe letters, forms, or other materials will now be sent only by email or private message communications.
they will not be posted out here on the board.
if someone else wants to post them, be my guest.. .. we have no other choice in this matter, and sending out confidential documents is better when it is done privately.
