  Rossi complained post race that Marc had held him up on purpose to let Lorenzo win the title. That's just racing. It happens in our club meets as well.

  Would love to see Rossi do a real race like the TT. He wouldn't last a lap....

  how many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.

  how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.

  how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

  About 8 years ago, we were having a bad time with our 1st daughter and the blood issue. She required surgery for Syringomyelia, a nasty brain and spine condition that results in paralysis. Blood was the only option during surgery, so you can imagine being torn between what the elders wanted us to do and our love for our children.

  I was at an assembly in Newcastle, and helping the accounts department collect all the boxes around the hall, when I got talking to a young brother about our situation and the impending surgery. He is a paramedic and knew all about the processes involving blood. I basically wanted to ask him if it was safe to transfuse.

  His reaction shocked me. He told me all about how the society was misapplying scripture in that the body had to die before blood was poured onto the ground. A person who gives blood is still alive. That night we went home and stayed up 'till late, scratching around for jw info on blood transfusions. Nothing the literature said tallied with the bible about the animal having to be dead.

  That was it for us. No more meetings. No-one called, nobody visited our daughter in hospital, it was as if we had never existed. Which was perfect for us, as we wanted to just drift away, but it still hurt.

  We went ahead with the surgeon's recommendations, and she is with us here all fixed up!

  Our daughter number 2 went through the same thing a few years later, and success again. Them surgeons are the best.

  So for us, it was a fellow believer who had doubts, and the stressful situation that helped us wake up.

  Speculation on future donation arrangements

  in the aftermath of this year's annual meeting and the recent tremors of cash shortfalls within the organization, i began thinking "what could they do next to bring in more $$$.".

  many here have speculated that we're seeing incremental moves toward "tithing" (of course they would never call it that).

  a recent thread (can't find it right now) highlighted that they recently raised the "suggested per publisher donation" at the circuit assembly significantly (tripled it?)..

  Somewhere we should dedicate it to those early ones that had courage and paid for it. Ray Franz. Barbara Anderson. We owe them a lot. - Freemindfade

  I like this idea. The date should have some meaning as well. I mentioned in an earlier post about those that are no longer here as a result of jw rules. Maybe the date could reflect that?

  Here's a thought. Maybe the anniversary of Eric's (Oompa) death? Just putting the thought out there. If its not a good idea, my apologies.

  I really like this idea. Me and better half have faded, but we like the thought of hammering a nail in. I think it shows the dubs that we are getting along without the `borg` just nicely thank you!

  When we first found this site, the posts made by Oompa helped us in so many ways. When he died, and the reasons behind it, our eyes were opened to just how much of a death cult this organisation is. The good people that have been taken away including 2 very close friends of mine.

  Because of shameful, hurtful rules made up by a few dicks in a board room!

  Me and my wife will write a disassociating letter, for all those that didnt make it out on their own terms.

  the person who took the video got really close and the video clearly shows that the flag is behind the glass and behind the bars protecting the kingdom hall.
