How Brainwashed Were You??
by Legolas ini will give you an example of what i mean.....two 'sisters' were gone away for the day and they were doing some shopping...there was a used clothing store and it was called something like "the church corner"...keep in mind it was not an old church, nothing religious about it at all.
but one of the 'sisters woulgn't go into it because of the name!!!
so do any of you have stories like that??

hello all - new here
by GoingGoingGone inhello everyone, this is my first post.... i'm in the process of fading after being a jw my entire life (almost).
i don't go to meetings anymore..... hubby's an elder, and boy, is he mad.
he still makes the kids go with him to meetings, service, etc... they hate it and i feel sorry for them, but there's not much i can do about it.. i've been feeling lonely today, i do miss my friends sometimes, and i have really good friends, but since i don't go to meetings i never see them much anymore.

Discipline or Child Abuse?
by Dimples ini remember spanking my son when we used to attend meetings and conventions because he cried and just wouln't sit still.
i was told that he had to be disciplined so he would learn to behave and learn what was being said from the platform.
now that i look back i realize that that was child abuse and i feel so horrible about it.do you feel guilty for spanking your kids during meetings and conventions?

Dimples I relate alot with your story.I to left the JW's for that reason,(along with many more)I DA'd myself and aplogized to my daughter for all those bathroom spankings.
I had "sisters" telling me if you don't teach her to be quite now, what are you going to do when the tribluation comes, and if "they" are after us and your daughter cannot be quite, she may loose her life! Gezzzzzzzzzz.....they had me scared that my daughter was going to be ripped outta my hands and killed.I was being told to spank her harder and I had enough of that! No more!
Another lady would tell me that satan was using my daughter and making the meetings miserable for me to discourage me from being there.
I used to watch a family with their son, while he was 5,falling alseep from being in school all day,the mother would keep making him sit up and putting his head facing the stage. I was like let the child freaking sleep! Children were just fidgeting too much in a seat and mother of father reaching over and smack on the leg! Childrens faces would turn red from embaressment and at times alot of them would act up more.
I feel for these children and its a shameful thing that parents listen to a group of men to beat your children because they can't sit there and listen like adults do.

Yr of the DOG1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.
One thing,I'm not selfish! lol -

IM from a dub who is disgusted at my presence on this board
by stillajwexelder ini have read your posts and am suprised, shocked and disgusted at the fact you still are an active witness who goes to the meetings 70% of the time and at the same time go to apostefests and curse and talk bad about the truth.
dont you know that the bible said people like you would quietly slip in the congregation and subvert the faith of some?
are you not afraid of god and jesus?
