What day off the Week?
by BereanThinker7 indoes anybody know if the borg has ever done any articles on what day of the week they think jesus died?
i know most denominations think it was friday and i have also heard somewhat sensible arguments that it could be wednesday.
not that it matters weather one in a believer or not even.

Dear
WTWizard,
If your not going to contribute a comment that actually answers my question and instead bring up "mythicist theories" then please just move it along. Neither atheist or agnostic historians scholars give an ounce of credibility to the mythicist idea. If you don't think that there was a Jewish man named Jesus that lived in Palestine and killed by the Romans, then you have no basis to think any ancient historical person existed at all.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't, seeing as you apparently believe in some "mandatory torture shot" nonsense.

I was just curious if they have even contended with that controversy as the Borgs biblical scholarship has gone from fanciful in the past to often plain ignorant nowadays.

[9-15-95 WT- ‘The Golden Calf’ And the people said: “All that Jehovah has spoken we are willing to do and be obedient.”—Exodus 24:7. Nevertheless, the Israelites soon sinned against God. They were still encamped at the foot of Mount Sinai. Moses had been on the mountain many days, receiving further instruction from God, and the people pressured Moses’ brother, Aaron, to make a god for them. Aaron complied and made a calf out of gold that the people provided. It was claimed that this idol represented Jehovah. (Psalm 106:20) The next day they offered sacrifices and kept “bowing down to it.” Then they had “a good time.”—Exodus 32:1, 4, 6, 8, 17-19.]
[Insight Vol 1 IDOL, IDOLATRY- An idol is an image, a representation of anything, or a symbol that is an object of passionate devotion, whether material or imagined. Generally speaking, idolatry is the veneration, love, worship, or adoration of an idol. It is usually practiced toward a real or supposed higher power, whether such power is believed to have animate existence (as a human, an animal, or an organization) or is inanimate (as a force or lifeless object of nature).]

New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures
by Quendi ini know this has been discussed before, but i want to reopen the topic.
i am currently reading ray franz's memoir crisis of conscience and ran across this footnote with respect to the new world translation of the holy scriptures:.
"the new world translation bears no translator's name and is presented as the anonymous work of the "new world translation committee.

For the "old testament" I still often use the NWT, for the "new testament" I have found the Revised English Version quite nice. It is a version the also restores the Divine where the tetragrammaton originally appeared, the usually use Yahweh.
I think obviously using a variety of translations is best to get a real sense of things. You can find the REV here. . . https://www.revisedenglishversion.com/ and they have a user friendly app for mobile, that I find much less annoying than jw.borgs app lol

I have been able to use it to direct others to as well since it had a large collection of matters dealing with the validity of the "gentile times" claim. It also had a lot of great first hand experiences.
I would hate to see it disappear. Anyone here no who runs it?

Anybody Here That Still Wouldn’t Take or Give Blood?
by minimus ini would think that the first thing to go for ex jws is the blood ban.
.
would you take a transfusion or give blood now!.

I wouldn't have any problem with it, although I would prefer to go bloodless or store my own preferably if I could choose. However, for me, somewhat ironically, it was one of the last things to go when I woke up. I don't think it was something I was particularly interested in and once I really considered it, it was so obvious that its not wrong to use blood, it was embarrassing.
