JW.org vs. Cross: Honestly What's The Difference?
by Hadriel ini have a family member that goes nuts with these little things.
i wouldn't be surprised if they have a drawer full of underwear stamped with the logo.. it is completely out of hand.
now i'm not nitpicking here but what is the difference between printing a cross/wearing a cross than wearing a jw.org pin, tie-tack or whatever other logo'd item?

Do people not look at both with some sort of authority and reverence? I'd say yes. How is this any less than the idolatry that Witnesses accuse so called Christendom of?

i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

Just read Freddo's post. @BluesBrother is right that is a very good way to approach it.
I would stress along the lines of Freddo's advice, go slow and always ask questions of your wife as you subtly try to wake her.
Don't push or say "see this is what I found". She'll see you're visible concerned about things. When she asks. Say things like, "I'm really concerned about x. Is my thinking out of line? Because this is what I'm finding? How can this be?
Always in a question form like you're trying to resolve the issue in the way she would expect. It quietly puts the onus on her to answer the question.

Was in your identical shoes just a few months ago with my spouse. I can tell you what worked for me.
I agree with @Juandefiero some of the deeper things which may seem clear to one, if no 607, there's no 1914 or 1919, don't always resonate with another.
What I did was say here are five things I cannot reconcile. Can you help me with these? If I'm wrong in my understanding or feelings I'll repent immediately.
When you put it in those terms the other party is compelled to sort the issue out. When they can't they have to choose do I lie to myself because this is all I know or do I accept the truth of the matter.
It is quite powerful in my opinion.
I feel for you though. I was right smack dab in your position. I wish you all the best brother.

Aspeger's syndrome, ASD and Autism - How do you know if you have it?
by KateWild inon another thread i was asked by fadetoblack about my asd.
sorry ftb i didn't respond, but here is your post again and i will respond on this new thread.. i'm curious to know how you know you were born with asperger's syndrome.
it seems to be extremely hard to clinically diagnose, but popular to self-diagnose.

For instance, someone with Asperger syndrome might initiate conversations with others by extensively relating facts related to a particular topic of interest. He or she may resist discussing anything else and have difficulty allowing others to speak. Often, they don’t notice that others are no longer listening or are uncomfortable with the topic. They may lack the ability to “see things” from the other person’s perspective.
Of those individuals with Autism/Aspergers the above is a rather fair description of the indications. At least of those I've met. Personally don't believe folks in this category need healing or curing per se. Compassion and understanding are in order along with a celebration of their special talents that are often present.

Honestly I think we're missing the mark here on the whole bread thing. Yes it is poor from the perspective of too much explanation but the connection that's being made most prominent in this JWB is far more interesting to me.
Note that it starts out talking about grieving the Holy Spirit. it zeros in on what ways one could do that. Notice the early stress on deceit. Then notice the brother they show talking during morning worship.
It is clear they are tying in or making a point of grieving the Holy Spirit with speech. Deceitful or harmful speech. Note the stress on "not having all the facts". The stress on pulling back to get perspective.
It is clear to me that many are speaking badly against the organization. There's been a large contingency now after seeing the ARC.
Really feels to me like they're putting the fear in folks that are speaking basically the truth but it looks disparaging on the organization. They're saying your asking for the second death.
Agree the bread illustration a bit drawn out but the point being driven home here? To me stop talking about what you've seen you don't have all the facts if you don't stop it's an E-Ticket (Disney reference ) to Gehenna.
