  Interesting article about the evidence of the Jewish Exodus

  the reality is that there is no evidence whatsoever that the jews were ever enslaved in egypt.

  yes, there's the story contained within the bible itself, but that's not a remotely historically admissible source.

  i'm talking about real proof; archeological evidence, state records and primary sources.

  There is evidence of Jericho falling as well as surrounding cities however hundreds of years earlier than the supposed time of the Exodus. There is a theory that the dating of the Egyptian dynasties are off and that if shifted everything lines up.

  The video "Patterns of Evidence" explains this in depth. There is some compelling evidence there.

  The issue I struggle with more than anything is that there has been no truly credible proof of remains at the bottom of the Red Sea. If an entire army were destroyed by the sea collapsing upon them surely there'd be some evidence of some sort yet we see little to none. Swords hubs on chariots adornments etc would likely survive even centuries later.

  Can I pick up a New World Translation from the JW London head office?

  i'm an anglican and not a jehovahs witness.

  what i dislike about lots of church congregations is their readiness to make unpleasant and unhelpful comments about other christian groups.

  recently someone in a church tried to tell me a little about the views of jehovahs witnesses.

  Be clear I've not done this on a professional level by any stretch but have been studying Koine Greek for some time now. The problem with the New World Translation is that it adds/removes without noting the adding or removing. Particularly as it pertains to Jesus there are many changes that are not supported by the original text. Speaking of primarily the Greek Scriptures. I'm certain after much study that the NWT is simply not accurate. When it veers from the JW taught doctrine the bible itself, regardless of the warning in Revelation, it is changed to support it.

  The impact of guilt, obligation and fear of Watchtower

  i find it very sad that people have limited choices as to whether they wish to stay or leave watchtower.

  many are simply held captive as a result.

  fear of losing family and friends being the biggest factor.

  For what it's worth Russell would roll over in his grave if he knew the depths of the organization and the control today. that was never his intention. Sort of interesting what it has all become since he left organization religion for this the very reason many find issue with JW today.

  I am losing

  i haven't posted anything for a bit, but wanted to express how i am losing this battle.

  it has been over 3 years now since i woke up about watchtower.

  the battle that i am talking about is the tug of war with my wife (i adore her immensely), watchtower is winning, she simply will not give in to my so-called negative thoughts about the religion that we are in.

  Almost three months since Crisis of Conscience Cease and Desist

  i am very interested in getting crisis of conscience being fully available as soon as possible.

  march 12th will mark exactly three months since the cease-and-desist letter was written.. i understand that things are slow and that deborah may be sick, but i was just wondering if anyone knew the status.

  i have been asked twice already where the book can be obtained in spanish and i have told people that the book is not available.. there are ways to make ebooks extremely hard to share.

  @blondie nope she isn't...in my exodus pretty much the sweetest person I've met and care for her and her husband deeply. They are tops in my book. You can't speak or interact with them on a personal level and come to any other conclusion.

  @blondie my point is it would have been better left unsaid as to any timeline. That's all I'm saying. Deborah would tell you the same. Unless you just haphazardly go at it, there's far more involved than realized. Everyone wishes including Deb that it would be quicker, but she's not going to sacrifice thoroughness, integrity and so on for the sake of expedience. For the record I totally agree with her. It's important to so many.

  @Juandefiero agree she shouldn't have said that but I think that was more out of optimism than intentionally trying to mislead obviously. From my perspective, what I've seen. It's more involved than what I even thought. By the way I think your statement is the very reason there's not be more said sense. Not wanting to further expectations while dealing with so many unknowns. But that's just my perception.
