So how do we start a Scholorship for JW and EXJW Students?
by Luther bertrand init is my contention that jw children are intellectually abused by being brainwashed to not have the choice of pursuing higher education.
so, how do we help these victims?
would a jw/exjw offer some help?

While it's a lovely idea Luther, I would think it would make more sense to attack the anti-education policy of the org. We need a cure not a medicine for just the symptom. Maybe you can look into charities that are already working in this field and get some advice from them. Maybe a complaint to the child protection services or a petition? There's more accomplished by making the community aware of what it means to be a JW child. Or maybe you can look into government funding for some kind of foundation charity to help these kids? -

Thank you defender, it made good reading.
Seems to me the way forward is to do a multi-religion e-petition to the government. There's a number of religions practicing shunning and with the use of Youtube, it's easy to unite... so why aren't we making use of the e-petitions to change the law in our governments?
Am I being naive? I know Cedars has this EU shunning petition going with some friends of his... what's happening in the US? I saw a thread from 4 years ago but 16 pages is a lot to read. Any update on that?

Years of GB members appointment
by Lostandfound indoes anyone know the years of appointment to the gb of its current members please?
is the longest serving member in any way the senior?
-
Skedaddle
Lösch was appointed in '94 making him the longest serving. Scroll down to 'Governing body members' section on the link.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governing_Body_of_Jehovah%27s_Witnesses
I don't know about Lösch being senior as GB members are supposed to be equal... or what info you're trying to get at but the money end is operated by the President of the 'Watchtower' (the President as of Adams appointment is now a non-GB position for the first time and that was made official off top of my head around 2000) and that is Don Alden Adams.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Alden_AdamsEdit: Interestingly, Don's brother is vice president on another arm of the Watchtower. I'm of the mind that any digging for treasures should be done on this side as opposed to the GB... I see the GB as the smokescreen. Watchtower/the money side is where it's gonna be at!

Reminder about language and content
by Simon inwhile the vast majority of posts that the majority of posters share are perfectly fine (which we appreciate) i've noticed we have a few cases where bad language, crude innuendo and outright misogyny is creeping in.. this is not acceptable.. we're not certainly not prudish and neither are we going to enforce puritanical rules - sometimes a politically incorrect joke is funny as hell and sometimes strong language is justified.
but often times content is completely out of place and cannot be justified.. so, please don't post crude content or use expletives just to be "shocking".
it's childish and immature and won't be tolerated.. thank you to all the people this has nothing at all to do with..

Science vs Religion - All in the brain? New study...

They're pitching science vs religion. I don't disagree with the articles, it makes sense but it doesn't have anything ultimately to do with God vs no God does it? If we think in a balanced way we should be using both sides of the brain to come to conclusions. So far, science cannot say God does not exist and religion can't prove God does exist. Only the individual can say he/she knows or doesn't know. Determining what side of the brain someones using to make that claim they know or do not know is telling. My ears always perk up when I hear anyone debating God from both sides - there's the endless rabbit hole!

Real Prophecy vs. Watchtower Prophecies
by Perry inwhile we had our eyes fixated on our "one-time" idol the watchtower and their false prophecies like the generation of 1914 that wouldn't pass away, 1975 etc.
; a number of real prophecies were unfolding.
we just weren't taught to look for them.

The Jews control their own people... even when persons do not know they are of Jewish blood, they are found and looked after. I've met two people who never knew one of their parents was a Jew, who stated that they have been followed from time to time and no matter what they want to do in life, the very best opportunities get offered to them, on a plate with the answer always being; it's not luck, it's your bloodline. So, is it prophecy or are the Jews controlling their bloodline? From the statements I've heard from first hand experience, I would say the latter! So, that kind of rules out any prophecy.
Isreal repeatedly calls the Jews to come back to Isreal under all kinds of guises. The latest instance of this was several days ago when after the Ankara and Istanbul attacks Isreal advised Jews to get out of Turkey. As far as I can see, there is a select number of Jews who want to bring this ''prophecy'' about by manipulation. So, read into that!

It would have been acceptable if the Trump joke would have been first on the list to make it very obvious it was an April fools. Putting ''breaking news'' and then leading readers on a very traumatic rollercoaster about child sex abuse etc. is not acceptable. Period. I don't care how hard you're working to bring down the org. I just hope that nobody sees that stupid fooking article as the tipping point. Extremely poor taste!
