Ah, your mum was a right sweetheart. She looked so young for her age - her skin and hair was beautiful. It's so sad that she didn't get her wish to see her granddaughter. This disgusting cult has so much to answer for. How can they say they are a loving, family organization? It's laughable. So sorry for your loss Bonezz. Hopefully things will change so you get to meet your grandchild. Lots of love x -

You can see how the Branch is trying to seperate itself from the congregation legally. There's enough legal documents and literature to establish solid evidence to squash this.
The human rights sections - Hopefully the lawyer is aware of the current case that's going on with the European court regarding shunning. There's enough magazines which establishes the truth.
Also, the ''charitable status'' is under scrutiny by the UK Charity Commission at present. So it might not be ''recognized'' with such a prestigious title for too much longer.
I think if the solicitor can establish, with the use of the JW's own literature, their real proceedures of disfellowshipping and shunning and witness statements are provided as proof, it should be a home run.
This case looks like it's in the bag. By announcing disfellowshipping from the platform, they slandered his name. I hope the claimant doesn't settle out of court... the ruling in court is needed so others come forward for the shunning because human rights win will defo be all over the media!

@Akromo - I've only read the two threads you've posted today but in my opinion the Watchtower is screwed. The Claimants lawyer can nail this if he knows what weapons to use. -

@nelim, it doesn't speak of what evidence they based the disfellowshippng on as it is not part of the case. I would suggest that they would have had two witnesses or, maybe some kind of paperwork was provided as the second witness. I'm speculating, the point is, it's irrelevant to the case and that's why it isn't listed. -

Jeff you're right, the lawyer representing would have asked those questions first. I think we know the police weren't called but the lawyer on hearing this would know he has a slam-dunk case. No police investigation but then executing punishment... game over.
I took a JW to court years ago in a very similar scenario and won the case. I was innocent. There were others involved who didn't want to go to court but were innocent of the accusation also and the judge hinted to open more cases for the others because there had been no legal investigation done by the police and therefore it was an open and shut case.
They're screwed!
This case could be landmark - human rights act is up in two sections. If they win on either or both of them, this could open a floodgate for anyone who's being shunned.
