Yes I have had one done, very straight forward and interesting,my eye with the original lens sees in a yellow spectrum and the new one sees in blue spectrum. The effect initially is quite remarkable.I amuse myself by trying to work out what colours are by closing one eye and then the other; I am easily amused. I still require reading glasses but my long distance vision is A1. I do however now suffer from a slightly dry eye in the one with the artificial lens and have to apply lubricant from time to time.

'So when they learn of an allegation, elders immediately seek direction on how they can comply with laws about reporting it.'
Gee that's hard, pick up the phone and call the cops. How much direction do these numbskulls need?

Reclaimed voices respond to jw.org's recent public statement regarding the Dutch governments decision to investigate
by Diogenesister ini'm so sorry if this has already been posted but i think its too important and interesting to miss.. reclaimed voices chairman raymond hintjies responds to jw.orgs dutch lawyer's statement that the dutch govt.
investigating watchtower's 300 incidents of csa would be akin to"shooting a mosquito with a water cannon" .
i particularly like raymond's sensitive message to concerned jw parents, at around 3 minutes or so, .

It has made me very averse to being manipulated, perhaps to being slightly paranoid about it. Otherwise I wish they never existed.
I used to buy into the story that being reasonably articulate and literate compared to some other people was due to the old "Ministry School" but time has proven to me that many people gain these skills without the help of the Borg.
So really the Borg can F off as far as possible and if they F off so far that they end up back, they can F off again! Not real happy today. F the Borg!
So in answer to the OP question; I think not!!!

Thank you for sharing Nic.
Just wanted to say ; about one of your comments about learning to hug and say "I love you", I too learned this from "worldly" people.
Pretty sad when we were raised in the most loving group of Christians in the world!
That's what I love about this and other apostate sites, so many "me too" moments.

Former Jehovah’s Witness jailed for child sex crimes
by Tahoe inhttps://www.perthnow.com.au/news/crime/former-jehovahs-witness-jailed-for-child-sex-crimes-ng-b88859067z.
a former jehovah’s witness who sexually assaulted three young boys says his homosexual inclinations were repressed by his religion and manifested in his crimes.. gavin andrew lamont, 46, was jailed for four years today for assaulting two vulnerable teenagers in the early to mid-90s and another boy about 20 years later.. lamont encouraged the teens to give him massages and suggested he needed help checking for testicular cancer.. district court judge linda petrusa said lamont, who knew he was homosexual from about age 13, had significant cognitive distortions around sex because of his religious beliefs.. .
she said the victims, who were aged between 14 and 16, were vulnerable because of their youth and lack of sophistication.. judge petrusa sentenced lamont to four years behind bars for indecently dealing with a child and four counts of indecent assault.. lamont was kicked out of the mundaring congregation in 1997 after one of his victims complained to other members, but was reinstated after doing counselling with elders.. he was kicked out of the congregation for a second time in 2014 after another victim made a complaint.. lamont’s crimes came to the attention of police last year through the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse.. defence lawyer seamus rafferty described the case as complex, saying lamont struggled with his sexuality because his religion told him it was a sin.. he told the court the church was the essence of lamont’s being and said his client tried to repress his sexuality and ended up behaving in “naïve, unsophisticated and pathetic ways”.. lamont’s parents and sister are all living with complicated health issues and rely heavily on his help and care.. mr rafferty asked judge petrusa to give lamont a conditional suspended jail term, saying he was the glue that was holding his family together.. “this is a case for the exercise of mercy, its mercy towards them (his family) and nobody else,” he said.. judge petrusa accepted a prison term would be tough on lamont’s family but said an immediate jail term was the only appropriate punishment.. in a statement to the court, one of the victims said he felt that he was “forever stained” by lamont’s crime.. he said the abuse had made him self-conscious in his dealings with his own child.. lamont will be eligible for parole after spending two years behind bars.. .

OMFG I attended the same cong, my younger brother was one of his best friends. Our familys were/are close.Of course I never knew he had been DFed, I have been faded long time.I do feel for his aged parents, we know the Borg won't care about them. His Mum was one of the warmest loving people I remember.
The fallout from ARC continuues. That's two from the ARC personally known to me.The other was an elder when I was a boy, same congregation!
My BIL was also DFed for kid fiddling....another suppressed gay gone wrong. But that is another story, fortunately my sister was then able to divorce him "scripturaly"
Maybe I know you too stuckinarut2 ?
Edit: No stuck, the perpetrators father was never an elder, in fact he used to criticize the Borg quite strongly, his wife and kids were "in" the father tolerated it for sake of his marriage. My father however was an elder for a few years, and a near neighbor of the family, he probably knows all about it!
Edit 2; Well that is today gone, the floodgates of memory are breached ! Wife will have to be patient now, the JW crap runs deep!

Apparently Jehovah's people love God, love " the friends", love your neighbor, love your enemy and I wasn't feeling a thing, so off I went to discover unconditional love which i did find in a "worldly" family.

I HATE JW funerals
by jws injw funeral last night.

Slightly off topic.
Not about JW funerals, but JWs at a "worldly " funeral; I have posted about this before but it still sticks in my throat.
At aunt's funeral, a secular service and very beautifully done, my parents who are aged staunch JWs refused to sit at the place reserved for them at the front with surviving family, showed no emotion what so ever and the best thing my Dad could say to me afterwards was " of course it was the blood (transfusion) that killed her". Aunty was an elderly women who had complications from heart surgery for f*** sake!
What is wrong with these people?
Oh yeah it's a cult.
I dread having to go to my folks funerals, maybe I wont.

I work in a school and some of the younger teachers' errors really grind my gears. And I am just the groundsman.
