About 2 years ago I showed up to the memorial and partook. It was a few towns over where I used to go, so nobody knew me. I did it out of curiosity, and to overcome the taboo about it.

Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

Cart Witnessing at Library
by M3tadata69 inhello everyone, i live here in the states, and over the past summer and fall, i noticed that several times when i went to the public library there were witnesses sitting outside next to the door with their cart.
usually a couple of old geezers just sitting there racking up field service time.
my question is, do they have to get special permission from the city to do this?

Usually a couple of old geezers just sitting there racking up field service time. My question is, do they have to get special permission from the city to do this? I would think that members of the KKK or some extremist organization could not just pass out literature or advertise their policies in such a public place. I understand the first admendment aspect to this also, freedom of speech, etc... But I would think if people knew that they take a hard stance against homosexuality, pedophilia scandal, and other extreme views of the witnesses, they may not be so welcoming. Could I stand next to these cart witnesses and hold a sign up that points out these issues with the witnesses. Again this is all in the context of the public library.

I used to be very angry at the JWs; once I came to peace that if I was angry with them, I still let them have some control over me. Then I no longer was angry.
Sometimes I still feel anger like when my grandmother or aunt try to use JW teachings on me, but I know I have the TTATT and I’m living MY life the way I want too. That makes me happy.

Family Insists on Having Relationship with My Child -_-
by Cimarrona inhi gang, i'm a single mother of an 8 month old baby boy.
i've been df'd for over six years now.
my parents are super dubs and most of my siblings are dubs (on paper - a couple have been inactive my entire life but still claim to believe) with the exception of a brother who was never baptized.

I to was df'd when my two kids were tots. My jw family did not want to associate with me or then wife, but they did want to have time with my kids. We did allow them the time with the kids until the kids started coming home saying "Jehovah doesn't like that", "Jehovah doesn't like birthdays...Christmas". We ended up having to cut ties with the in-laws because of this but a couple months later they went behind our backs and went to my own jw grandmother and begged to see them through her and she let them without our consent.
I agree with setting conditions for the jw family seeing your child. You should not have to raise your child while being undermined by your family, or having them teach your child that your an evil person that is doomed for destruction.
