Altered Scriptures?

my spies tell me that the jobos recently had a broadcast where 2 scriptures have been changed.. luke 22.26you, though, are not to be that way.

So according to G.Jackson an overseer should reach out in being an elder without wanting to have the position of an elder but only his work . Totally senseless reasoning on his part.

Why then be an elder. You could just continue doing the Ministry and serve others. And oh of course Paul forgot to put hard work in the Congregation as a requirement for elders.

The usual jumbled up logic of the Warwick crowd.

And why all the emphasis on hardwork or in other words proselytism? It's in the best interests of the GB to have more members which is more money for them, higher ego, more publicity and so on. At the same time harder working members will have less time to figure out that this religion is a total fake.

Well there are several examples but take one for example; the Bible says that baptism would be in the name of the Holy Spirit. Does the Holy Spirit have a name? According to WTS and many other Christian denominations ... No.

So necessarily associating the sentence of Acts 15:14 "a people for his name " with only referring to Jehovah is wrong.

You state above that it could have been possible that the same people who transmitted the LXX (Septuagint) who deleted the name in the NT. Impossible because the LXX was written by scholars in the period of 247BC to 117BC. Yes the completion was in 117BC .The LXX -Septuagint has absolutely nothing to do - no link at all with the NT ...

1)The strongest proponents of the name Jehovah who are Jehovah's Witnesses express serious doubts on whether Jehovah is the most accurate English pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton .

Check on the link here where it says that the most likely pronounciation of YHWH is Yahweh in Hebrew.

You can also check Insight on the scriptures published by the WTS says the same thing.

2) Its amazing in view of the above that despite knowing that the pronounciation they use is not to correct they still insist on using it. They call themselves with a Name which is MIsleading everyone. For a religion that prides itself in emphasizing that its the only one having accurate knowledge of the Bible whereas all the others are false teachers and in the darkness regarding knowledge.

3) Its also strange that of the more then 5000 manuscripts- some stretching right up to the 2nd century -of the NT none display the Tetragrammaton.

Some sources reveal that there could have been up to 1 million chrisitians in the first century. Is it possible that with so many copies of the NT writings the Tetragrammaton was on purpose removed from people who had miraculous abilities?

If something as important as God's name was erased from the NT what other things could have been erased? How reliable then can we say those writings are? Was God so impotent to let this happen?

Too many questions come to mind.

I was taking a look here and it seems that the best pronunciation is YAHWEH rather then the Jehovah that JWs

use.

Would God like to use an inaccurate form of his name? Somebody would say well it doesn't matter ... and I read some non JW scholars say so. IMHO I would think that it does.

Is today a crucial time? Well I strongly doubt that these are the last days that JWs claim but everyone is free to do his own analysis and draw his own conclusions.

we all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.

my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.

i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.

Another thing to watch out for re Spencer's research is the date 1975. At this time JWs were preaching the end so it is possible that as James Beckford (Durham University at the time) discusses that psychotics may have been identifying themselves as Jehovah's witnesses when they had no affiliation with the group.

James Beckford shares a similar view to mine that Jehovah's witnesses would not have allowed schizophrenics to remain in the organisation.
Being mentally ill is not a disfellowshiping offense and I knew of at least 2 baptised Jehovah's Witnesses who suffered from some serious mental disabilities. One so seriously that he was classified by Doctors as totally unfit for any kind of job and he gets money from the Government to keep him alive. Well the other one ... I can't even say ! But as long as these do not commit serious sins they are still Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

Maybe 144,000 is a symbolic number. Sources reveal that in the first century there were about 1,000,000 Christians. According to the Watchtower all those then were anointed.

So somehow the math doesn't add up!

How does the WTS explain away THIS scripture?

i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).

It does seem contradictory this concept of being part of an organization because if you see 1Pe2:21 it mentions Christ is a model to follow closely. From the context it would seem it speaks about Christ when he was on earth. Now the Watchtower's interpretation is that Christ's concept of a Christian organization is wrong and IS NOT to be followed closely and yet 1Pe2:21 speaks about Christ when he was ON earth.
