reading the meeting workbook study for this week to see what my family will be reading at their meeting, once again they are asking for members for generous gifts not only from money they earn but also part of any investments they may have and making future arrangements for them to inherit after death through their wills.

the WT has a hotline you can call if you have any questions on how to donate!!

Last time i checked the WT doesn't have a hotline to call about questions regarding the society or to answer bible questions.

The God of the Bible ,the Koran,the book of Mormon and any other religious writing put out by man or woman ? A BIG NO

So in that sense I`m an Atheist now from previously a true believer in the past.

Are their higher intelligent beings out their in the universe who may have been responsible for life on earth ?

I dont know , what I do know is that their is no higher power that we need to worship to gain his/her approval.

Jehovah is supposed to be the Almighty God Creator of Heaven and Earth and no less the Universe ? Right ?

A watchtower once said he is the ultimate chemist that figures he created the Universe.

So for the love of me I cannot see why Jehovah God want`s YOUR hard earned money that you need to survive and exist in this world

he has permitted and actually supports.Rom.13:1-7

and how does that scripture compare with 2 : cor.4;4 And lets not forget Matt.4:8 to provide the 3 witness rule.

The bottom line is why would the Almighty God ,the Creator of the Universe need YOUR MONEY to accomplish his purpose ?

Biggest impact on humans

do not know where to post this but i like to hear your views on what you think had the biggest impact on humans.

for me, 2 things:.

music: every human listens one way or another to music and will likely have some sort of emotion.

Jesus Christ: who or what could possibly have a bigger impact on humans than the son of God.

Well your right ,Christians in the name of Jesus have killed/slaughtered millions of people in the name of Jesus over the Centuries.

And if Jesus Christ disagrees with those Christians acting in his name he has been bloody well silent for the past 2000+ plus years .

I think that is a big impact on humans whether he is really the son of God or not the son of God.

just the video or some commentary too?.

i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

. By encouraging EOL donations they are tapping into a source of income that reflects the failure of their own doctrine. I suspect the irony escapes the majority of course

Sad but true.

It never ceases to amaze me that JW`s believe that Jehovah gave each individual a brain to use and yet they refuse to use it effectively and give their thinking ability over to a few men in America the birthplace of so many Cult religions.

Truth is not unattainable

seeing corrupt rulers creating war to divert attention of the public, almighty arms industry loving conflicts, religious leaders finding religions as a means for easy income ….etc one may conclude that truth is not attainable.

yet there is a place where truth remains hidden for the seeker to experience his thrill—in the vocabulary of different languages.. when i was studying in mount holyoke, i had the opportunity to mingle with many foreign students and thus to my surprise came to know certain words are like a treasure of truth in at least one language among the vast reservoir of languages which means you have to continue your search for the truth of one word till you get it through different languages.

for example, take the word ‘king’ and start seeing the meaning of it in all the languages and you will find it means a person ruling with dynastic root, then suddenly you find in one language, the word ‘king’ is the summarized form of this sentence: “one who brings delight to all of his subjects and keeps them (of various interests) reconciled to each other.” to mention a few other words which my search took me to the truth:.

Isn`t "truth" in the mind of the beholder ?

What is truth for one person is utter bollocks to another person.

Whether the subject is Religion , politics ,The Environment ,Global Warming ,etc,etc.

Each of the words you have defined have negatives in the real world of human experience .

Or maybe you are just cherry picking words/definitions among different languages to suit your pre-conceived idea.?

Then again I could have completely misunderstood your OP
