  I wonder if their are any parents of theses children on here now .May 22 1994

  i know it could be a sensitive subject however we were all once firm believers and could have very well let one of our loved ones die due to what we once believed.. and not to be judgemental on what we would have done or did do in the past ,i sometime wonder if any of the parents or even one parent of the children of the may 22nd 1994 magazine of "youths who put god first " have now regretted their decision to let their children make this decision on their own.. after all these years i find it hard to believe that not one of them have no regrets to what happened to their child.. i can also accept that it would be extremely hard to admit that you allowed your child to make a decision to die on a belief you instilled in them that you no longer now believe in.

  i think that would be very hard to live with and come to terms with.. if any of you are here my heart goes out to you because you have gone through hell and my thoughts/vibes are with you..

  Eyeuse2badub I have no words to express my sadness here beyond it being so tragic.

  Diogenesister ,This religion has a lot to answer for,thank you for your input.

  In the 1960`s here in Melbourne Australia when I was a new convert their was a sensational case being played out in the media about a couple ,JW`s who had refused a blood transfusion for their baby who died.

  I heard years later he was Dis-fellowshipped and that their marriage had broken down and I always felt that it was such a sad ending for them for what they had gone through as a couple so many years before.

  I often wonder what became of both of them after all these years.

  Pale.Emperor Meets A Born Again Christian

  of all the religions out there one religion that's always filled me with exasperation was the born again christian belief system.

  to make matters worse, the street preachers i see and hear here in liverpool always tend to be crack pot, loud mouths, attention seeking and just plain annoying.. this idea that "im going to heaven, you're going to hell" is enough to make me not want to worship their god even if he did exist.

  but today i met two.

  There are things you "just know" are wrong isnt there? That was put in there by God. We were made in his image.

  I think i would have said something like :Maybe that`s why their are so many wars on this earth ,the God of the Bible was constantly instructing the Israelites to exterminate this nation or that Nation ,man woman and child mind you, when he wasn`t destroying all life on earth except for a few species in the flood.

  The God of the Bible is guilty of killing or having sanctioned the killing of more millions of people either directly or indirectly than Satan has ever been guilty of I think his last count was about 10 individuals.

  Radio Ministers explain Satan's actions

  as i was driving home last night, i happened onto a radio station that had two "ministers" answering questions from the listeners.. they were just as clever as the wt in twisting explanations.

  i had to laugh as well as shake my head over the manipulation of the scriptures.

  the last question was, why does satan attack god's holy city after he is let loose at the end of the 1,000 years.

  It`s not enough that humans have gone through thousands, 6 at least of human suffering disease ,pain and death ,that after another thousand years of Jesus Christ rule they would be put through it all again when Satan is let out of his prison to wreak havoc again on humans on earth.

  God Jehovah doesn`t sound like a loving father to me what about you

  Why is Satan even given a say in anything here ? Why is he given so much power and authority in the first place ?

  If you believe the Bible Satan is still running around free doing whatever he wants to and not suffering anything ,

  from the outset he could still flik between Heaven and Earth according to Job and was able to amass many followers according to the book of revelation.

  Whereas

  Humans, the victims of Satan have suffered sickness ,disease, death for thousands of years ,where is the justice in that ?

  I was thinking along the lines of word for word translations of the scriptures and how they may influence our beliefs or non belief and not rely on religious interpretations into modern English by translators who may have their own agenda.

  I was also thinking of the Old Testament as well as the New Testament in word for word Translations.

  And then I came upon this post.

  I was surprised to learn in this post that their were two versions of the "Kingdom Interlinear Of The Christian Greek Scriptures " published by the WTB&TS I never knew that.

  I hope their are some knowledgeable people out their who can throw more light on this post after 13 years since it was first posted .

  Why I lost my religion

  i was a jw for over 50 years and recently just stopped cold turkey going to the meetings.

  years of sitting at the meetings with the boredom, the gloom and doom, repetition of doctrine, the gloom and doom, the fake love, the gloom and doom, the end being so close, do more - do more, just got to be too much for me to stomach.

  i stopped praying to god and no longer thank god for the food before i eat.

  FedUpJW ,LOL that`s very good,maybe the punch line should have read :

  "Do you know how hard it is to find a Governing Body Member with a brain ?"

  just saying.

  Sour Grapes this is such a good post with so many good points considered .

  Such as ,why would a loving God cast Satan out of heaven back to the earth where he can do more damage ?

  That just doesn`t make any sense at all .And as pointed out he could have sent him elsewhere in the universe.

  he pulled no punches and his pen was as fast as his gun.

  after all, it took almost three whole weeks for mickey to type his first novel.

  Hi Terry ,their have been many posts on here about mickey Spillane going back 16 years .One I posted about 6 years ago as smiddy.

  Before I became a convert I used to love reading his books when I was a teenager.

  Their have also been a couple of TV series with two different actors playing Mike Hammer many years ago and at least one movie or two about the Private eye Mike Hammer.

  Relying on my memory ( which is not always reliable nowadays ) I believe it has come out in a publication that he was converted after finding a leaflet left under his door ,and he became a book study conductor some time later .

  I think he stopped writing for a period of about 10+ years ? And then he started writing again which made me think he was out of the religion .

  But that was just my thoughts.

  i happened to come across a time article in 2008. it was basically talking about the high turnover in american faiths.

  it mentioned the jdubs and highlighted the following point.. an even more extreme example of what might be called "masked churn" is the relatively tiny jehovah's witnesses, with a turnover rate of about two-thirds.

  that means that two-thirds of the people who told pew they were raised jehovah's witnesses no longer are — yet the group attracts roughly the same number of converts.

  Your father must have been an exceptional charismatic man who had good people skills to influence so many people to his cause.

  However I would say such a person is the exception to the norm, the majority of JW`s in the many KH`s I attended never converted anyone to become a JW.

  And some of the KH`s I attended had between 80 and 100+ publishers.

  Thats just my experience of 33 years in the "struth"
