I know this shouldn’t bother me...but

so i woke up this morning with nothing planned for the day.

i rolled out of bed around 9am and went to local mcky ds to get some breakfast, and lord and behold there was a group of jdubs sitting around eating and sipping on coffee, probable counting time.

anyway, i glanced over and recognized all of them and they glanced back at me.

Christmas Eve Best Wishes To ALL of you .

it`s christmas eve here in australia today and i wish all of you a very merry xmas simply because i can without being zapped , or hauled into a jc committee.. it doesn`t matter whether you are religious or not , i`m not now , however i can appreciate and respect those who do.. so whatever your views on the matter have a great day and enjoy the holidays in whatever grabs your fancy.. and if jw`s do come knocking on your door as they do this festive season wish them a merry xmas and anti-witness to them ..

And as Venus says we should be taking into consideration Jewish Documents because it is their History and in their language and if anybody should know what they are talking about it should be them ,shouldn`t it ?

Why should we be relying on Christian Apologists for their interpretation of Jewish documents ? Who have their own agenda ? One that is at loggerheads with Jewish traditions ?

And if History has been nothing else, it has demonstrated to us how Western Society / Christendom have persecuted the Jews throughout the Centuries.

Do the writings of the Jew`s ,Hebrew scriptures ,Scholars , point to the year of 1914 ? as being of any significance ? NO

1914 is a year that has been prominent in just one ( JW ) of over 40,000 christian sects in the 1900`s in well over 140 years at the last count.

And do not forget C.T.Russell was a believer in the Zionist movement. as a Christian ?

The very name " APOSTATE" is going to turn off any doubting / lurkers who have been indoctrinated for many years or even decades to reject anything that even smelt of anything apostate

It takes months and even years to come to terms with your exit from the Borg where you are comfortable with how you now are.

On the other hand ones that have been out for many years may get some comfort from this type of mag.however i cant see the benefit or point in doing such a thing when you have this and a number of other sites that cover these questions anyway ?

Like everything else I guess there are pro`s and con`s to a solution.

The article says that C.T Russell was never a Mason whether he was or he wasn`t he was certainly influenced by the Organization of Masons having their symbols on the cover of his magazine he published.

You would think he was also a strong believer in the Zionist movement of the time also judging by the title of his magazine whether or not he was a member who knows.

i just realized that i was 39 years old when i joined this discussion board.

i remember the morning conversations that always brought me laughter, and i think there were only a but about 9 or 10 regulars back then!

i will now turn 57 years old in a few months.

little acts of kindness.

just had a coffee on way home when two young mums with babys in strollers came in with the usual bags and stuff for the little ones needs.

i recall our days of little ones and the times we rarely went out.. i bought a coffee voucher for each mum and gave them my best wishes.

i delight in doing random acts of kindness.. i wish everyone here as well a safe and happy christmas/ new year time.

Any ideas or theories as to why exciting the bORG seems to make people more giving?

I think on leaving it`s a wake up call for all ex JW`s and realize just how little we contributed to our community and nation and how much non Jw`s actually did contribute to the community`s we live in.

And just how generous non Jw`s are in helping in a practical way people of all walks of life regardless of social standing , religious , political beliefs or nationality.

Non JW`s are not judgemental and do not put conditions as to who they will help whereas JW`s have so many conditions they end up helping no one.

They , JW`s just end up as parasites in the community they live in taking all the benefits a Government offers without giving anything back in return.

Latest JW.org Statistics Are Confusing & Lack Context

earlier this week a new post on this forum announced that the 2017 worldwide annual service report was available on jw.org.

wow - that's earlier than the statistics for the 2016 service year which appeared in the 2017 yearbook last january!

I thought that in the last couple of years Branches were being closed or merged with other Branches so how is it that the number has gone up ( by one) and not decreased by a few ?

What was the number say 5-10 years ago compared to today ?

Also as regards reporting hours of FS it was common practice for Elders and in my day book Study Conductors who were responsible for their group to encourage ( in other words inflate) your FS hours with comments like you must have talked to someone about the "truth" informally or in everyday conversation .

And the reason was they did not want to be seen as slack in looking after or encouraging those under their care as it would be a bad reflection on them and they could lose their privilege`s .

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe everything will be Hunky Dory after Armageddon ? I have news for them.

they seem to think that all they will do is enjoy a carefree life with little or no concerns problems or worries whereas nothing could be further from the truth... according to the bible.. without trying to speculate on these concerns or problems during this one thousand year reign of christ jesus ,lets hear what the bible has to say about the end of his thousand year reign.. rev.20:7-10 satan is to be let out of his prison {as if he hasn`t done enough damage in 6000 years of roaming about in the earth at the same time fraternizing with jesus and jehovah in heaven} i digress.. and the reason he is let out of prison ,lo and behold ,is to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth gog and magog to gather them together for the war.

{ here we go again ,armageddon didn`t solve anything we have to go through another one.

} 1000 years later.. now get this it`s not just some isolated little skirmish with a few hundred or even a few thousand dissenters ,as the bible states they number the sands of the seashore and they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp {not a nation but a camp} of the holy ones.and the beloved city.. with that description it would seem the holy ones are in the minority and the opposes apparently were spread over all the earth.. so that description of the bible to me about jc 1000 rule does not appear to be one of living in a paradise , that is not on the agenda until after jesus christ 1000 year reign and only if you are lucky enough to survive another test/war of your loyalty after all you have gone through previously.. i wonder if this realization is one of the reasons why so many now are claiming to be of the anointed because as one of the other sheep you have to pass another test after the 1000 years of christ jesus rule whereas of one of the anointed on death now you go straight to heaven ..

That may be true however for over 30 years the number of anointed hung around 8000 and that number was supposed to keep dwindling as the day drew near and as the JW Society indicated the New System was supposed to be here by the end of the 20th Century with far fewer numbers.

And what is the count today ? over 18000 being of the anointed.
