Do you miss that initial "high" ??

do you remember the first time you found out "the truth about the truth"?.

yes, it was confronting, shocking and life altering.

yes it was hard to deal with.. but, along with that, many have said that they experienced a sense of thrill, euphoria, or joy when realising the facts about the religion that held us captive mentally and physically for so long.. it was liberating to learn some of the controversial teachings etc.

As others have already commented on I would hardly call it a " High" either .More like a "Low" having the rug pulled out from under your feet and just beginning to realize that all you believed and would stake your life on was not what it was cracked up to be .

I didn`t want to believe that it was just another man made religion , one that originated in America ? Could I have been that gullible ?

It was devastating at first , I had trouble taking in and believing all that I was learning from the first sites I came across such as Shaun`s site ,Free Minds ,and eventually this one .

Only when I stopped being a "Captive Of A Concept " (Don Cameron) can I say I am on a" high" and have been for may years now.

I thank you to all those unknown friends that have helped me to where I am now in a good place in my life .

On the one hand they claim not to have a clergy Class to their members and publicly and on the other hand we all know that they do have a clergy class in practice.

The Governing Body act as "Popes"

District Overseers and Circuit Overseers are another level of "Clergy"

As are Elders in the congregations, all mimicking the different levels of Clergy in Christendom .

They show themselves up as the hypocrites they are .

Rising allegations

hi does anyone think that with the rise in abuse cases in the uk and the rest of the world and the w5 video as well as many others exposing the organisation that the society might use the loyalty to the organisation as brainwashing to keep people in?

they might say its all lies and an attack by satan and have to stay loyal and not believe any of it.

Cancer in Animals

we were taught sickness and death is a result of the sin inherited from adam and eve, so why do animals get cancer?

they are supposedly still as big j intended, so therefore cancer is a creation by the big fella himself?.

just an exercise for one's who believe in the whole bible story thing.. (not me)... any others anomalies you can think of ?

Gen.3:20 States that Jehovah clothed Adam and Eve with Skins ,did he kill these animals to do that ? or were their dead carcasses of animals lying about in anticipation of their sinning and needing to be clothed ?

Also ,who were they hiding their nakedness from ? Jehovah ? He made them that way naked ?

Besides their was nobody else on earth to see them ?

Beard update

so it's been over a month since i decided to grow a beard.

the mustache and chin have come in fuller than i ever imagined - while the cheeks leave me wondering if i'll ever grow enough hair to make it not look so wildly unkept and patchy (if anyone has any advice here it'd be much appreciated).

but in the mean time i'll give it another month and see how it goes.. .

Do any of the JWs go out door to door with a territory any more?

i actually had a neighbor ask me that the other day (she knows i'm an "ex" jw) and i didn't really know the answer.

i know there's a bit of cart witnessing going on (small town) and a lot of driving around to return visits.. but are they actually doing territory, not-at-homes, all of that?

the neighbor said that eight years ago, when she bought her house, the jws were by "all the time".

A small group of J.W.`s were going D2D a few blocks from my place on Saturday morning and they looked to be teenagers and one young family couple with a pusher .{ poor kid unless the parents wake up }

Their are many scriptures in the Bible that claim God is a protector of animals in that he has laid down laws to protect the animals. As the O.P. points out animals suffer many of the afflictions humans have , then why is that ?

Maybe that is all bullshit that he cares about animals. .Consider a few pointers .

God has shown his thirst for blood when he approved Abel`s sacrifice over Cain`s { surely the first fruits of the earth should have satisfied a God ?}

He destroyed every living animal and bird life in the world in the flood of Noah`s day { apparently not marine life }

And throughout the Old Testament God has continually sought blood sacrifices of bulls,Sheep ,Birds ,

1 Kings 8:63-66 , 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep slaughtered to inaugurate the house of Jehovah {a bit of an overkill don`t you think?}

Animals are supposed to act on instinct that the creator instilled in them right ?

How do bears know that their are Salmon migrating up river to spawn and they prey on them at the right time ?

How do birds know that their are fish in the ocean that they can dive in and feed off ?

How do land animals know their is food for them in the ocean or rivers if it is not already instilled in them from creation by God.

Isa.11:6-9 It has never been the case and will never be the case ,animals ,bird life and marine life never had anything to do with the so called fall of man and their is no justification for their suffering that they do .
