Clarification needed re shunning policy

i am in the process of writing to parliament about the practice of shunning by jehovah's witnesses.

what i need to clarify if the practice is 'specifically' mentioned in any of the books used for bible study/ recruitment leading up to baptism?.

i would be grateful if anyone could clarify this in case i get my facts wrong when writing my letter..

Didn`t the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses the WTB&TS then by their own actions dis associate themselves by joining a secular organization namely the United Nations as an N.G.O./ D.P.I , an organization that has objectives contrary to Bible teachings and is under judgement by Jehovah God according to their own statements ?

Isa.2:4;Rev.19:17-21.

Noah`s day Flood ? ( again) Waters Covering Active Volcanoes ?

i know their have been many posts dedicated to this subject already and i apologize if this aspect has been handled before.. apart from the many other absurdities relating to the flood of noah`s day being literal as jehovah`s witnesses believe and already thrashed out here by the many posts previous.. i was wondering if this aspect has been considered that the waters would have had to cover over active volcanoes with what result ?.

their are a number of" active and resting" volcanoes at any one time around the earth and i`m just wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me about the subject would like to weigh in and give their 2 cents worth in what effect a global flood covering volcanoes would have ?.

i am aware their are fissures in the deep oceans where volcanic activity occurs ,but is this the same ?.

waton I appreciate your post regarding volcanic fissures at the depth they occur in the oceans and the pressures involved .

However a flood in Noah`s day covering active volcanoes above ground would surely have only covered them over by a few meters at most which is what I`m talking about and is not the same thing you suggest .

Help me with the disfellowshipping topic, how is it NOT scriptural

many have said that jesus never shunned anyone.

yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.

but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

Complete shunning is not scriptural.If so prove it.

Nowhere in the Bible has Jehovah shunned Satan the book of JOB .Where Satan has the freedom to come and go before Jehovah in Heaven and chat with him .

Nowhere in the Bible has Jesus shunned Satan in fact the book of Mark shows Jesus spending forty days with Satan allowing him to put tests on him obviously enjoying his company .

And the book of Revelation clearly shows how how much Jehovah and Jesus like Satan that they let him out of prison and cast him down to earth to spend more time with us humans after the 1000 years have ended ?

So here we have the Bible accounts of thousands of years where both Jehovah and Jesus have spent time with and conversing with their chief adversary and not shunning him.

Is that enough Bible facts for you to prove that shunning is un-scriptural ?

We had a toy poodle the runt of its litter for 16.5 years from a couple of months old.It broke my heart when I had to put her down ,as I say nobody loves you or is more loyal to you than a dog is.

We also had a young cat daisy that adopted us a couple of years after our getting our poodle and she lived a little longer than lilly did and I was devastated again with her passing.

I vowed I would never put myself through this emotional trauma ever again my body wouldnt be able to take it.

"jehovah takes the initiative to bless his loyal servants.".

this statement is a contradiction or on oxymoron or something.... if they already had to demonstrate loyalty before he acted then he did not take the initiative!.

our faith is not complete unless we are convinced that jehovah will reward....yes faith involves the certain expectation of gods promised blessings.. so they condemn people for "serving to a date", the carrot if you like, and being disappointed when there blessings do not materialise at the promised time... yet say that the carrot is an important part of faith!!!.

A.N.Z.A.C. Day 25th APRIL

the 25th april is the day australia and new zealand remember their war dead.. on the 25th april 1915 troops from many nations including australian and new zealanders landed on the shores of turkey.

the anzac forces at a place called gallipoli or galliboli by the turkish people.. the concept was to land move inland attack constantinople and there by force turkey out of the war (1914-1918) and bring it too a swift end.

the whole operation was a monumental stuff up with the anzacs being landed in the wrong place up against steep cliffs.

The 25th April is the day Australia and New Zealand remember their war dead.

So out of respect for the Aussies and Kiwis who fought and died the 25th remembers them and all servicemen and women who were killed in wars and 'peace-keeping' operations.

I was one of the "lucky " ones who was balloted out of being called up for national service when I was 18 years old in 1957 and was "saved" from being sent to Vietnam.I wasn`t a J.W. then either .

I do have a lot of pride and respect for those who did serve in one capacity or another in both the World Wars whether they were male or female .

If not for them who knows what type of Government or tyranny I would be living under if not for the sacrifices they made at the time to prevent those invaders from succeeding.

Thank you to the men and women who gave their lives so that we could live the " freedom" we take for granted today.

JW Christians Are Supposed to be Good, BUT.....

so, serving "the one true god" and being "in the truth" are supposed to make jw's better people.

they are bringing their "truth" to people and that probably makes them feel that they are good to "worldly" people.but they do it to "get their time in.

" they do it no longer in any life-saving mentality.

As one Elders wife said to my wife many years ago when she was going through a difficult time of meeting all of the requirements expected of her ," you dont have to be actually doing all of these things you just have to "seem" to be doing all that is required .

many people like to boast about “jehovah being loving and impartial toward all”.

there are even scriptures that say words to that effect.. however, if we look at just his actual conduct and actions , and not accept the words supposedly written by his apologetic “bible writers”, the facts tell us something else!.

firstly, he chose one special nation and race of people.

When I first heard or read somewhere here that Jehovah was a genocidal ,homicidal maniac that relished in the shedding of blood both animal and human ,I was shocked and appalled at such a thought !

However all I had to do was see the Bible verses for myself without the rose coloured glasses I must have had on as a JW.

Withdrawing community support in the congs

i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.

counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.

if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

So if they don't help people spiritually, emotionally or practically like a clergyman would, what is their function!

They like the label of being called an "Elder" not that they have a "Clergy Class" of course
