  Another Interesting conversation with my father today

  dad - sister x had been visiting a lawyer as she is wanting to write her disfellowshipped daughter out of her will.

  apparently her lawyer told her that if she leaves the daughter just $1000 then she can’t contest the will because she has been given her inheritance.. joe - oh thats unfortunate for the daughter as sister x is worth many times that.

  no doubt despite been dfed she has still got to pay bills and survive.. dad - sister x isn’t happy about the life style her daughter is living.

  Languages, Dialects, Accents

  just though i'd start a thread devoted to languages, dialects/sociolects and accents, with the idea being that posters can comment on any language, or dialect or accent of any language, on this thread.. any phrases, expressions or idioms that you find interesting are also welcome.

  first, the subject of english accents came up on another thread.. the british isles have many different types of accent (although many of the dialects may be dying out), and if i start to take a closer look, i can't help but see 'patterns' .... in received pronunciation of standard english, the letter r is pronounced initially, between vowels, and after consonants, e.g.

  red, arrow, break.

  It fascinates me how some people can speak multiple languages fluently. I have two grandsons who can speak Japanese and English and their only 9 and 7 years old.

  CPAP machines for sleep apnoea.

  i have used a machine for some years.

  they cost a heap.

  too often they end up pumping a hot plastic smell out and therefore into my lungs.

  i'll relate a story, and you decide whether you believe it or not.

  what would you think of an elder who told his daughter's fiance that he would kill him if he ever did anything to hurt his daughter?

  I have no problem believing it .I have witnessed shady dealings between brothers a number of times .

  JW`s are just human beings who have faults like all of mankind (women ) too.

  Google crimes committed by active Jehovah`s Witnesses and you will find they can commit every crime under the sun just like anybody else .

  I personally know of brothers who have been guilty of fraud ,sexual offence, mis-appropriation of KH funds. and a brother who who was found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife and served time in Jail.

  And sexual dalliances between married bros, and sisters .

  The JW religion A spiritual paradise ? I don`t think so.

  - another religion that is worth researching if your interested in finding similar religions is “ iglasea ni Christo” they are a Phillipines based religion that heavily borrowed from the JWs / LDS

  And I think they actually have more members world wide than Jehovah`s Witnesses do .

  And if that is truly the case then Jehovah is blessing them more than the JW`s

  It could simply be youths or teenagers who without thought of consequences are just being foolhardy and thoughtless of the consequences of their actions .

  I hope that`s all it is and the authorities learn how to deal with this in future .

  Maybe their needs to be more controls and restrictions on who can own and fly a drone..

  Simon that was beautiful , I loved that , that is paradise on earth now .

  the watchtower teach their followers that the star of bethlehem was sent by non other than satan... however as we take a look at the scriptures by comparing spiritual things with spiritual we begin to see that the star of bethlehem was not sent by satan, but used for the glory of god.a seasonal message to end the year.. watch now here :.

  A Star as seen in the night sky anywhere on earth is a Sun millions and billions of light years away from earth.

  Much like our Sun only bigger or smaller but still giving off light and heat .

  They do not move across the sky as depicted in the biblical account ,it just didn`t occur .

  Coping with a change of heart

  after 24 years of active service as a witness my marriage came to an end causing massive trauma.during this tragic life event for a period of approx 8 months i went haywire.

  drinking.

  partying.smoking.i was disfellowshipped.i met a wonderful non witness along the way and am remarried.what i don't get is this.if an announcement was made that i am no longer a jehovahs witness then why does the bible principle in corinthians about not even greeting he who calls himself a brother still apply.

  When Peter asked Jesus how many times he was to forgive his brother sinning against him Jesus replied not up to seven times but seventy seven times Matt.18: 21,22.

  So how much more should/would Jesus forgive sinners ?

  So instead of DF people they should be helping them to overcome such transgressions of their religious beliefs as they see it and not blackmail them into submission as what they attempt to do now.

  Luke 17 :3 ,4 .if your brother commits a sin rebuke him and if he repents forgive him .Even if he sins 7 times a day and he comes back to you seven times ,saying I repent you must forgive him .

  Are Jehovah`s Witnesses given this option ?at a Judicial meeting ? are they even aware of this option ?
