  And then their was the rapist who called on a sisters house ? with the intent of raping her because he saw two burly guys standing beside her he desisted ,she was a lone sister in the house .Obviously the Angels protected her .

  Paradise Lost

  does anyone remember the book paradise lost to paradise regained?

  i was made to study the scary parts evertime i misbehaved which must have been all the time as the book imprinted into my brain.all i wanted in life as a child was to join the girl guides go hang out at the ywca with my friends and take part in sports day at school.so my mother asked the then congregation servant if i was demonized,they decided i would be fertalizer for my mothers pear tree.

  anyway i grew up fairly normal,took me ages not to be afraid of lightning.had children who never entered a kingdom hall.most of my family served in some capacity at bethel so they dont talk to me.since then i have been a searcher looking for somthing to fill the void.has anyone found anything??

  I`m almost ashamed to admit that was the first book i was given to read as a 19 year old convert who didn`t know much if anything about the Bible .

  And my mentor thought that was the best way to introduce me to the "truth"

  And would you believe I fell for it hook ,line ,and sinker for the next 33 years .?

  So you can understand why I am almost ashamed to admit it.

  looking back over my life, the only thing that i can say i truly enjoyed as a jw was meeting and becoming friends with a number of jws who were fine musicians and had experienced various measures of success in what used to be called the "music business.

  tommy reynolds, from the vocal group hamilton, joe frank & reynolds ("don't pull your love out on me, baby" and "baby, baby, fallin' in love, i'm fallin' in love again") recruited me to play drums in his dallas circuit assembly orchestra in the 1970s.

  in 1977, i became friends with legendary jazz composer/arranger/band leader benny golson, whose life story appeared in the oct. 8, 1980 awake, and who appeared opposite tom hanks in steven spielberg's "the terminal.

  australian cardinal george pell, the vatican's third-highest ranking official, was convicted of sexual assault by a victoria court on december 11, 2018.. but australian media aren't reporting on the trial or its outcome.

  despite pell's mammoth status in the catholic church and as a public figure, his trial has been held in secret, following a victorian county court suppression order that applies australia-wide.

  it was imposed after the court accepted that knowledge of the accused's identity in the first trial might prejudice a further trial being held in march.. i believe this suppression order only applies to australia whereas this case may have been reported upon overseas ?

  in the catholic church their does seem to be a prominence of clergy that have been engaged in this abuse .. i`m not sure that can be said of the jehovah`s witness religion ,my understanding is while this abuse does involve elders and ms to some degree ,the majority of cases occurs within the laity class ,the rank and file members of the congregations.. where the jw`s religion is responsible for a duty of care to its most vulnerable members ,the children.. could or would the governing body of jehovah`s witnesses ever make such an appeal to the elders ,m.s.

  or the rank & file of jw`s to turn themselves in if they have been guilty of sexual abuse against a child ?.

  i just got so angry coming across this quote from the wt, shortly after raymond franz was disfellowshipped:.

  one who has been a true christian might renounce the way of the truth, stating that he no longer considers himself to be one of jehovah’s witnesses or wants to be known as one.

  when this rare event occurs, the person is renouncing his standing as a christian.

  I had to smile when I read that ,going back over their history of approx.140 years , my estimate would be in the millions that have left the religion over that time , and no longer want to be identified as a Jehovah`s Witness./ IBSA member.

  Coping with a change of heart

  after 24 years of active service as a witness my marriage came to an end causing massive trauma.during this tragic life event for a period of approx 8 months i went haywire.

  drinking.

  partying.smoking.i was disfellowshipped.i met a wonderful non witness along the way and am remarried.what i don't get is this.if an announcement was made that i am no longer a jehovahs witness then why does the bible principle in corinthians about not even greeting he who calls himself a brother still apply.

  one way to start de-programming yourself using one of the WT`s own publications .

  "The kingdom Interlnear of The Christian Greek Scriptures" and start reading the word for word translation in English ,and ignore the column in the margin.

  Just look up the word for word text.

  What you will find out is that the name / word Jehovah does not exist there.

  You will also discover that Christians were never called to be "Witnesses of Jehovah" but in fact were called to be witnesses of Jesus. On at least 20 occasions and not once were they called to be a witness of Jehovah.

  In that word for word text that the Jehovah`s Witnesses base their NWT on not one person in the New Testament utters the word Jehovah ,not one .

  That includes Jesus ,the Apostles , or any of his disciples .

  Isa.43:10-12 The Jews never took up the name Jehovah or identified themselves as such and Jesus never rebuked them for not doing so.

  Check out the origin of the name Jehovah by a 13th Century Spanish monk

  its just another example of JW`s taking a scripture out of context and misapplying it.
