  Library now cleared out

  well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.

  during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.

  i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

  Witnesses already can't check books out of the "Kingdom Hall library"

  Is that only in your local KH ? or is it a GB directive ?

  That`s really weird ,a library with books your not allowed to read.

  Are the G.B.members really good business people ?

  if i was an author of a book i think i would be over the moon if i was guaranteed a sale of around 5 million or more books for my work.. the jehovah`s witnesses have over 8 million members plus relatives that are fringe dwellers who come to the memorial once a year ,.

  so what a gold mine they have been sitting on as a publishing house .. why didn`t they keep publishing books for the faithful ,they could have even upped the price , and the faithful would have paid especially in prosperous country`s in the west.. they could have milked this venture for years to come as the faithful would have bought anything they would have published .. and their prophets (profits) would have soared ,literally and figuratively for many more years to come ..

  (if you go on to the jws own website it tells you that in 2012 they closed 20 bethels around the world down)

  I know they went through or are even still going through a period of cut backs however I didn`t realize they closed down 20 Bethels in one year Is that correct ?

  All of the cutbacks and closures taking place are not the signs of an organization/religion doing well rather it is more like the writing is on the wall as in an imminent end.

  Maybe I should titled this post

  "Are The Current G.B. members good Business people" because obviously the first couple of generations did build up an impressive religious publishing and real estate empire that the current GB members seem hell bent on destroying .

  Where about`s did this happen ? Maybe not a specific cong .but a country or state ?

  It could be newsworthy if it is a direction from the GB to do it everywhere .

  What religion or any other organization is there that is either ashamed or even embarrassed by their beginnings /early history and is continually re-writing that history as the years roll on ?

  In this 21st Century their is still $$$ Dollars galore that can be made in making money from thousand year old texts that are not even original and that you can give your own interpretation too .in a gullible market.

  And still the so called inspirational author of these writings Jehovah God is silent .?

  as all jw's and awakened ex-jw's know, the very existence of the religion is dependent on people's belief that the "holy trinity" of the wtbts, the ccojw, and the governing body (aka the organization) were personally selected by god/christ.. 1) mr. rutherford claimed that this divine choosing occurred circa 1919, and that all anointed members were personally chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.

  2) in 2013 this long-held, "profound scriptural truth" was discarded by apostates in brooklyn (the present-day governing body) when they personally decided that only gb members were chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.

  If I remember correctly newsheep it was in a court of law that they claimed no specific individual was identified as a faithful and discreet slave member ,that it was only in fact a "Theocratic Arrangement" when certain members came together to decide on matters of belief.

  A court case brought on by Steven Upthank against the WTB&TS in the State of Victoria in Morwell .Australia.

  This took place just a few years ago.

  As an interesting point from my point of view is that as you say it was a female lawyer that was defending the organization in this case in a court of law .

  Yet female Jehovah`s Witnesses have no place in any organizational structure in the religion ? But they can do so in a secular court of law in the land obviously.?

  Armageddon has started in Astoria, Queens

  now we know that the con ed plant in astoria, queens had an explosion, but before anyone knew what the heck was going on, so many people were posting on social media their pictures of the "strange blue circle light" that was in the sky this evening,usually st. johns which is near me has a fireworks display after a game, i thought this doesn't look like fireworks, much brighter and no sound, it actually looked like it was 4pm in the afternoon right before the sun leaves the sky.. i live in the jamaica section of queens (just up from trump's foot dr. if you saw that article in nytimes.

  com the other day) and haven't lost power but laguardia is dark now, no flights in are out.

  just wondering how the old school dubs that saw the lights outside window, thought "finally, the big a is here" !.

  I think tiki has summed it up well zeb and rants are good now and again for the relieving of stress .

  Take care buddy and I hope everything settles down and you are at peace with each other .

  In a couple of days time it will be a New Year and hopefully your family will be in a much better frame of mind all round.

  Yet another example why you can't reason with a JW

  so i mentioned to my pimi brother that the org.

  only grew by 1.4 % 2 years in row and if you factor in the birthrate of 1.1 % that's only 3/10 of 1% growth for all that hard work.

  i thought people would be streaming to the mountain of jehovah in the last days?

  I think people give up too easily when a JW dismisses your argument with a flippant answer .

  You should hammer your point home until they give up and cant defend their logic anymore .

  EG.Zech.8:23 a scripture that JW`s have applied to the last days read it and hammer home the point that this is not happening now even by their own latest yearbook ,so that means we are not in the last days yet.

  Isa.60:22 Another scripture that the JW`s have pointed out to be filled in the last days. And it has not occurred in this period of time again showing that we are not living in the last days according to the scriptures of the Bible and hammer that home until they break down in defeat .

  And ask them if they truly believe the Revelation book that stated that Revelation Chapt.8-9 concerning the 7 trumpets was fullfilled at the Cedar Point Ohio Convention in the 1920`s in fullfillment of that prophecy .

  And don`t let them weasel their way out of it , hammer it home until they concede defeat.

  Your the one with the winning hand not them ,don`t let them side track you.

  However I`m afraid many of us do just that.

  Thanks zeb for posting that it is also one of my favs,and I do like a lot of these flash mob thingy`s from time to time.

  Except for the few pathetic ones I have seen posted by the JW`s.singing Kingdom songs , UGH

  And I gather this was NOT a JW wedding stunt.
