How many would leave the organization right now if the shunning rule was removed?
by HiddenPimo indream scenario: everyone is made aware of all the wrongs, the false prophecies / csa problem / double standards - .
and they would not shun, how many would jump ship?.
my parents are fully aware of the sins of the org.

A report on a TV station this morning stated that it cost the Embassy 9 Million dollars to keep him for 7 years ?Most of which was for security .
I think I would go mad if I was cooped up in one place for 7 years .
Hang on I was a JW for 33 years

What is this overwhelming guilt that consumes him ? That he is still married according to a piece of paper ? And she is out of the picture anyway having deserted him ?
Your staring at a life of misery with this man,its your choice. It sounds more like your a sex object to him rather than a soul mate.

And some Jdubs give up the life of their loved ones to uphold policies like blood transfusions which are out of the realm and scope of the Bible .
The blood policies in the bible are to do with dietary laws ,not eating of blood etc.And nothing to do with transfusions etc. Which were unheard of in those days .
King Davids men broke the law eating blood and Jehovah had no problem with that simply because their life was at stake ,they were in danger of starving to death .
And Jehovah never chastised them or rebuked them for disobeying his law.

If shunning were no longer a JW policy, how many would leave the Org?
by HiddenPimo inadditionally - if this shunning rule was removed and everyone was made aware of the dirty secrets of the org.. (e.g.
csa-arc / un membership / malawi - mexico contrast / etc.).
would those leaving be higher?.

I think it might be closer to 75%- even 85% that jw`s stay in the religion. Crazyguy2
The other 25% -!5% of JW's is either they had a lobotomy or they are just brain dead ?

The time periods of Daniel
by Leolaia inone of the most perplexing puzzles of daniel is the differing way the author referred to the length of time the rebuilt temple would be defiled during the persecution of antiochus epiphanes iv (175-163 bc).
historically, the period is known with some precision; the heathen altar (the "abomination of desolation" of daniel and 1 maccabees) was installed on 15 chislev 167 bc and the temple was rededicated on 25 chislev 164 bc -- a period of almost exactly 3 years (1 maccabees 1:57, 4:52).
the desolation of jerusalem however began some several months prior to this (cf.

by HappyBlessedFree ini will be eternally grateful to leah remini for her docuseries on scientology.
it is what helped me to start waking up and seeing the org for what it is.
i remember thinking huh “they call it disconnecting, we do the same thing.

No fun debating "imperfect" JWs
by Tantalon inwell that was no fun at all, just got a visit to invite me to the last supper memorial.
haven't had a call for a long long time.
i tried to engage them about following bible not watchtower, they just kept changing the subject as they have always done but this time every challenge was met with "we are not perfect, the slave is not perfect" and "we don't want to have a debate".

If i didn`t welcome you before HBF I do so now . With me and my family it was not any one thing but an accumulation of many things over the years that individually at the time didn`t mean much but all adds up overtime .
To the point you just can`t ignore it anymore and the penny drops .Somethings just not right and then you start to investigate a little bit more.
And Bingo the rosy coloured glasses fall off and the scales across my eyes fell off also and I/we saw the religion for what it really is .
My wife and I were in it for 33 years and brought our two sons up in it regrettably ,but thankfully we are all out now.
Take care .
