what is the funniest or strangest thing to happen to you or your partner when knocking on doors?.

mine was seeing a greenhouse with mannequins inside.

I knocked on the door and this curvy young woman just poked her head around the door ,I tried to keep her their as long as I could because behind her was a cupboard with a full length mirror and she was standing their naked.

Another time was when a guy answered the door in his open dressing gown and was naked underneath it,I just politely said we`d call back another time.

lastly I was doing rural territory in mid western Victoria Aust. when we were approaching a property when the farmer called out not to come any closer because of an infectious disease on site . I responded never mind we will be alright and kept on going ,he then said if you come any closer I`ll shoot you.

Tha`ts the last time I ever believed country people were very hospitable.

I think Richard Dawkins shouldn`t hold back on what he thinks of GOD and come right out and tell us what he really thinks of him.

However I tend to agree with what he stated in his book.

Why not describe the period that Jonah spent in the belly of the fish, did it smell, did the fish take you to other land, did you happen to meet others in your stay and did you ever eat fish after your ride..

Jonah spent 3 days in the belly of the whale right ? how many times did he have to take a piss , or a crap for that matter ,did he drink fresh water while their ?, where did that come from ,? and what did he eat.?

Another one

The story of Samson has to be a fictional story too does`it ? A man who gets his strength from the length of his hair ? JW`s frown on brothers who have long hair.!

Samson gets 300 foxes and takes torches tale to tale and sets them alight and sent them out into the fields of the philistines

To burn their fields down .

The logistics of getting 300 foxes from miles around and then getting them to sit quietly while you tie their tales together and then set fire to them (remember we are talking about 300 foxes from miles around ) and then set them off into the fields of the philistines.

It is articles like this in the WT and other publications of the WTB&TS that convince me the Governing Body members know without doubt that they are deceiving and manipulating their own people brothers and sisters to keep their organisation going and their own positions in the organisation.

Individuals may not have started out that way ,but ego , position ,authority ,power ,all have an influence in maintaining the status quo of their position.

Will hurricane Harvey infuse the WTBT$ with more money? Or cost them more money?

in the past, i have known many brothers that had trekked down to the southern us to perform relief work on behalf of the wtbt$.

they return as heros.

they shared the repairing and rebuilding of kh and the property of fellow believers.

The poor suckers Brothers and sisters that go down to do relief work all voluntary all expenses borne by themselves

and get nothing in return ,

Whereas the WT Society reaps the benefits especially where Kingdom halls ,Assembly halls are concerned in eventually selling them off and keeping the profits made then re-investing and making more profits going where ?

We would all like to know.

The writing has been on the wall for a few years now against the WTB&TS / IBSA ,

All the downsizing of Branch officers,personal ,K.H`s,Magazines ,etc,etc.is not conducive to an organisation that is in a good way.

In reality it is a sign of the eventual demise of the organisation that is going through these adjustments.

However like others have said it will not go out of complete existence ,it will be around for a long time yet with drastically reduced membership maybe comparable to the Christadelphian`s or even the Exclusive Brethren.

Faces on TV Broadcasting

i agree that being photogenic is not given to every ordinary mortal.

.

but when at the beginning of every new month i am confronted with the various faces of those males showing off as a priority on tv-jw (see jw broadcating september 2017), i am asking myself if i honestly am faced with normal people, or with people who went mental already since ages ago.. is it maybe due to the fact that the majority of them already do not feel anymore like belonging to ordinary mortals ?

,Please Governing body of Jehovah`s Witnesses and those responsible for JW.Org don`t sack him or palm him off somewhere but give him more exposure ,more time in front of the camera.

He gets an "E" excellent for facial expressions come" gestures"

This brother will do more for JW.org than any other personality on the TV broadcast

"Prayer" and answers to it , positive / negative ,or is it all in the mind ?

speaking from my own experience and that of my family of wife and two now adult sons do not believe that prayers to jehovah /god are answered .. so it must also be true of all other religions and their believers also.. my wife and i were jw`s for 33 years and and i don`t believe anyone prayed harder than my wife and i at various trials we faced during those times in those 33 years.. we may as well have been like the present day jews who pray to a brick wall .

Anyone go on a cruise?

just finished a 7-day cruise from nyc on norwegian cruise line (ncl- gem).

this is my first cruise in 30 years, so my past experience does not count.. overall, a great experience.

ncl does a great job.

My wife mrs smiddy went on a cruise a few years ago from Sydney to Noumea,New Caledonia ,Suva ,etc a South pacific cruise on a 12 day cruise.

It was her worst nightmare come true. they dodged one cyclone early in the piece with minimal problems however on the way home they felt the full brunt of a second cyclone that produced 15 metre waves that buffeted their cruise ship thats 45 foot waves hitting the ship and they could not get back into sydney to disembark on the day they were supposed to as it was too dangerous to go through Sydney harbour heads and dock.

So they waited another 24 hours at sea till things calmed down somewhat.

Their is no way she would ever contemplate going on another cruise ship

That was her experience .

Obviously their are good experiences and bad experiences

it's only a matter of time of course..... jw rumor mills will start up soon, with stories of how jws were "first on the scene" as the flood waters receded..... how the red cross and/or us national guard and/or doctors without borders and/or [you name it] were marveling at just how "organized" the jws are..... how zealous jws were pulling their trolleys thru ankle-deep water to "offer comfort" to victims, by giving them - sandwiches?

bottled water?

to offer them comfort by giving them 16 page "magazines" to read in their spare time..... so as the stories start to come in, you can "deposit" those little nuggets of bs here.. once collected, we'll wrap them in a pretty bow and flush them away where other instances of pure manure go..

Those 3 links you provided of JW`s helping their "own" are all about only "one" family, obviously family members of JW`s or a family involved in studying with JW`s.

Because they will not lift a finger to help anybody not associated with jehovah`s witnesses.
