it became rare, i thought, when considering last weekends study article.
it became rare, that most of the message is actually quite ok. the gist was to avoid loving oneself, money and pleasures more than god.
thats ok, if you're a believer.. this was my take until i saw the pictures, and discovered the real message behind the article.. as often, they use pictures to contrast bad and good behaviour (in their eyes at least).
It amuses me now how all religions including JW`s have to keep reminding/encouraging members to give money?
I don`t recall anywhere in the NT of Jesus asking for money or guilt tripping anybody to give over their valuable things to an organization ?
GOD the ALMIGHTY needing money from his worshipers ,makes you laugh when you stop and think about it .

if we eliminate all the controversial and confusing verses attributed to jesus we will get the crystal clear truth from him because his source was (1) god which can be seen from his habit of early morning talking to god in prayer (mark 1:35; john 8:1, 2) which would not have been for material blessings (mathew 6:8; 16:24), and (2) also observance of people.. 1) jesus who said judgment is based on whether we acted humanely or not (mathew 25:31-46) would not have spoken about god’s people and pagans (which means bulk of the things found in gospel had not been spoken/done by jesus).. 2) another important truth he said was about the real key to our happiness which he said is with each one of us.
(luke 17:21).
from his observance of history, he knew there are people from adversities who made great contribution to the world; and there are people from all abundance who lived a life of wastage accomplishing nothing; and there are people who are mixed in varying degree.

further they have implemented recurring payments "because the hard part about donating is remembering to donate," they actually said that!
The obvious question from me is why does an ALMIGHTY GOD NEED MONEY TO DO ANYTHING ?
if he needs money to accomplish his works in this system of things he can`t be a" GOD ALMIGHTY."
Because if he needs money in a world he has allowed to exist ? Giving Satan free reign for thousands of years well isn`t it obvious ?

So why doesn`t he cough up and pay his own way instead of asking kids to give up their ice cream money ?
i have always wondered why there are more females than males in all of the congregations that i have visited?
some of these females are in their 70's so maybe their husbands have died and women just live longer.
or could the reason be that years ago men were the breadwinners and women stayed home to raise the children thus they were home during the week when the jdubs came a knocking?
Aren`t their more "Nuns" than "Brothers" in the Catholic religion ?
Jehovah`s Witnesses have copied the R.C.Church on every thing else so why not this ?
i just talked with a pioneer who came back from school and she said that at the end there was emphasis put on two things.. 1: stay loyal to the governing body and their teachings.. 2: beware of propaganda.
they said that in wartime the enemy will use propaganda to break the spirit of or confuse the troops.
they said the same things is happening now, so reject negative reports about the organization.. this pioneer (who is fully pimi btw and enthusiastic about it) said she asked her cotboe about if we really have that problem here.
If people are gullible enough to get their information from one source and one source only then what can you expect.
They will be misled eventually.

i haven't found religion viable after we left the jws some fifty years ago.. oddly enough i will be conducting a session at the oxford forum which is put on once a week on a sunday by the presbyterian church.
they invite scholars, professors, artists etc.
people of interest to expose their congregation to what else is going on in this community.
It would be very interesting and informative if this could possibly be recorded so that a far greater audience could benefit from your experience .
