....if you are told to accept and believe and act upon anything you are told by the Governing Body of J.W.`s without question even if you don`t agree with or understand the reasons for the directions they are giving you ,just trust them and obey them .

....If its a sin for you to have anything to do with a Church of Christendom ,by going to a baptism, marriage ,or funeral ,
however
its not a sin for the Elders to sell a Kingdom Hall dedicated to Jehovah . to a church of Christendom ?

THEY act like the ones who are hurt??!!
by stuckinarut2 init really amazes me when jws act like we are hurting them!.
many of us have found that if we stop associating with them for valid reasons, they act all upset and hurt that we would be "so cruel as to limit our association or cut them off".
i know of friends here on the forum who have been told by parents that they "will shun them if they leave jehovah" , and yet when the shoe is on the other foot and our awake friends shun them first, the parents cry and bemoan the situation and say how "cruel it is to deprive them of their company".

Jehovah`s Witnesses speak with a forked tongue !
" We don`t shun anybody if they leave the congregation then they are shunning us "
And on the other hand
"If a baptized Jehovah`s Witness leaves the "truth" and doesn`t repent we will shun him/her as a bad association"
or words to that effect .

Are older women holding the congregations together (at least in the US)?
by Spiral inso i went and had a facial yesterday, and the aesthetician (and business owner) was a 30 something women, and we got on very well from the start.
the conversation came around to how many new churches are being built in this area, and i said i was surprised by it all.
she had a very interesting take on the situation.

How many times does the J.W.religion have to "Cry Wolf" before the average Jehovah`s Witness wakes up ?
Are the younger women in the religion of J.W.`s today any more enlightened than their older counter parts ?
I don`t think so .

Help me with the disfellowshipping topic, how is it NOT scriptural
by LevelThePlayingField inmany have said that jesus never shunned anyone.
yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.
but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

Are not Jehovah and Christ Jesus the bench marks here as to what is to be believed and acted upon ? And not what some humans who later down the track claim to be their followers and misinterpret their words ?
Do Christians and Bible believers actually believe what the Bible actually says or do they believe in what imperfect humans say the scriptures mean and not what the scriptures actually say ?
It does not matter two hoots what later Bible writers say or not say about shunning what matters and what counts is how Jehovah God and Christ Jesus acted towards Satan the chief instigator against Jehovah God and neither of them shunned him in what will be at least 7000 years of human history at least.

Clarification needed re shunning policy
by UnshackleTheChains ini am in the process of writing to parliament about the practice of shunning by jehovah's witnesses.
what i need to clarify if the practice is 'specifically' mentioned in any of the books used for bible study/ recruitment leading up to baptism?.
i would be grateful if anyone could clarify this in case i get my facts wrong when writing my letter..

Or he might renounce his place in the Christian congregation by his actions, such as by becoming part of a secular organization that has objectives contrary to Bible teachings and therefore is under judgment by Jehovah God.—Isa. 2:4; Rev. 19:17-21.
Didn`t the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses the WTB&TS then by their own actions dis associate themselves by joining a secular organization namely the United Nations as an N.G.O./ D.P.I , an organization that has objectives contrary to Bible teachings and is under judgement by Jehovah God according to their own statements ?
Isa.2:4;Rev.19:17-21.

Noah`s day Flood ? ( again) Waters Covering Active Volcanoes ?
by smiddy3 ini know their have been many posts dedicated to this subject already and i apologize if this aspect has been handled before.. apart from the many other absurdities relating to the flood of noah`s day being literal as jehovah`s witnesses believe and already thrashed out here by the many posts previous.. i was wondering if this aspect has been considered that the waters would have had to cover over active volcanoes with what result ?.
their are a number of" active and resting" volcanoes at any one time around the earth and i`m just wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me about the subject would like to weigh in and give their 2 cents worth in what effect a global flood covering volcanoes would have ?.
i am aware their are fissures in the deep oceans where volcanic activity occurs ,but is this the same ?.

Thanks for the replies and the funny ones too .
waton I appreciate your post regarding volcanic fissures at the depth they occur in the oceans and the pressures involved .
However a flood in Noah`s day covering active volcanoes above ground would surely have only covered them over by a few meters at most which is what I`m talking about and is not the same thing you suggest .
You might have a valid point there Fink ,I come up with my best topics around 3 AM

Complete shunning is not scriptural. If so prove it.
Nowhere in the Bible has Jehovah shunned Satan the book of JOB .Where Satan has the freedom to come and go before Jehovah in Heaven and chat with him .
Nowhere in the Bible has Jesus shunned Satan in fact the book of Mark shows Jesus spending forty days with Satan allowing him to put tests on him obviously enjoying his company .
And the book of Revelation clearly shows how how much Jehovah and Jesus like Satan that they let him out of prison and cast him down to earth to spend more time with us humans after the 1000 years have ended ?
So here we have the Bible accounts of thousands of years where both Jehovah and Jesus have spent time with and conversing with their chief adversary and not shunning him.
Is that enough Bible facts for you to prove that shunning is un-scriptural ?
