  Does Jehovah need any protection?

  does jehovah need to be protected by a zealous scribe***** (masoretic text) or anyone else?

  deuteronomy 32:8 is a textbook example of how later scribes sometimes changed the biblical text in a misguided attempt to “protect” god’s reputation.

  deut 32:8, eliminates references to other divine beings (32:8, “sons of god”; 32:43, “heavenly ones” and “gods”).

  To me these changes were made to get to the idea of a monotheist belief. Only one god. Elohim means gods plural and I believe the original texts says Elohim not Angels or sons of Israel.

  Genesis Ch.3 : 22 ...."here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad "

  The fact that God said the man has become like one of us is telling.?

  God is actually saying he has peers ,beings the same as he is , God`s.the same as he is.

  And Adam having that Knowledge now of good and bad put him on the same level in that sense of the Gods that then existed at that time.

  Not that he had the power of God but that he had the intellectual ability of knowing Good and bad right and wrong ,evil and good.

  i am stoked about going to see dweezil zappa in concert on thursday.

  it is going to be a date night, and the person i am taking never had the chance to see his father frank in concert.

  i know that she will appreciate the complexity and beauty of his music, as well as some of his off-color humor.. yes "humor does belong in music!".

  Are there close parallels between Deuteronomy 32:8, Genesis 10 and the Ugaritic tablets?

  according to these sources (city of ancient ugaritic tablets found in 1928) , elyon divided up all the nations into seventy nations, one for each of his sons (elim) .

  sons of god makes the most sense than the sons of israel-deut.

  32:8 especially since there was no nation of israel listed in the table of nations.

  Leolaia had some interesting thoughts on the Ugaritic tablets she made 14 years ago in two posts if anyone`s interested , not to undermine your post I-Love_Jeff ,but to enhance it and elaborate on your post,

  Especially for the many newbies that have joined this forum in recent years who are interested in the so many other writings ,texts ,that existed even before and after the books of the Bible were penned.

  hey guys, i'm working on a paper about exploitation amongst jehovah's witnesses ( i'm also preparing a book about jehovah's witnesses and interaction ritual theory, and another paper about jehovah's witnesses and discrimination against women).

  i'm trying to calculate as exact figures as i can concerning how much bethelites are paid.

  does anyone know the monthly stipend as of now?

  Need advice/opinions about DF Husband who woke up

  my husband was df 3 years ago.

  i still attended meetings but not regularly and for the past 10 months i have not attended any at all.

  my husband wanted to get reinstated until maybe a few months ago when i started to help him to wake up.

  Look for other interests/ clubs that either you or your husband could join there are plenty of them out their for you both to choose from .

  All you have to do is a little research in your community to find one or two that interests you and join up even volunteering at an Op shop can be fun you meet a lot of interesting people that way and your helping your local community. Just a few to consider that are in my local area .

  Lions Club ,Senior Citizens ,Probus ,U3A , Legacy ,Meals on Wheels ,Table tennis ,Bowls ,Bocce, Book clubs , their are just so many activities provided for mature age people as well as young people why not take advantage of them and re-start living again.

  ....if you are told to accept and believe and act upon anything you are told by the Governing Body of J.W.`s without question even if you don`t agree with or understand the reasons for the directions they are giving you ,just trust them and obey them .

  ....If its a sin for you to have anything to do with a Church of Christendom ,by going to a baptism,marriage ,or funeral ,

  however

  its not a sin for the Elders to sell a Kingdom Hall dedicated to Jehovah . to a church of Christendom ?
