yesterday, my classmate was giving an example from her homeland on how people can give various interpretations which have nothing to do with truth.
though studying in the us, she was closely monitoring what was happening in kerala (a small southern state of india), her birth place.
last month saw unprecedent heavy rains wreaking widespread havoc in this small state with huge population (which is much more than australia’s population).
The people interpreting it as god's anger were making two flawed assumptions - that there is some divine entity that involves itself in human affairs, and that this entity was responsible for the event.
And as far as Christianity is concerned that explains why J.W.`s are just one of 40,000 plus Christian sects.
Each one giving their own interpretations to the one ( or maybe two or three . ) set of books

I can relate to them not having anything to do with me ,because I D.A. my self after many years ,however my wife never D.A. her self and nobody of her "friends" in the "truth" have ever contacted her in over 25 years .?
i had some terrible dark nightmares when i was studying which disappeared once i got baptised.
i think it was psychological based on the fact i believed jehovah was protecting me after i was baptised.
i had a nightmare tonight after just under a year of being out of the borg and woke up feeling a bit lost because in the past i'd have prayed and then gone back into a peaceful sleep but since i don't pray anymore i wasn't sure how to comfort myself to go back to sleep.
The brain is a complex organ and dreams can be so bazaar I wouldn`t put too much stock in anything I dreamed otherwise you could go round the twist .
Dreams are not reality and don`t belong in the real world.
Leave them where they belong in the imagination of the complex brain.
for you who have read my bio you will know i have been working on my wife to wake her up.
now i won’t call her awake yet but through a series of long conversations this week i revealed to her my dissenting toward the jw faith.
she was totally supportive of me assured me she would never think differently of me because of how i feel.
My thoughts and good vibes are with you and your wife f2f hopefully you can both be on the same page together and out from under the control of 8 men in America,who dictate what beliefs Jehovah`s Witnesses have at any one time only to change that belief when their expectation / prophecy doesn`t materialize which necessitate`s the doctrine of "new light" that excuses their failed earlier expectations /evidently`s and predictions /prophecy`s .etc.

how does the governing body of j.w.`s explain that a man having a sexual relationship with a woman defiles a man?.
isn`t this or shouldn`t this be an affront to women who are jehovah`s witnesses ?
Not at all Vidiot ,ts just an observation I have made in publications I`m aware of that all illustrations made about those who have gone to heaven as the 144000 are all depicted as males with beards .
If they recognized women among the anointed surely they would portray them in their illustrations ,? but no they don`t.
I don`t presume to know what they are planning to do ,its anybody`s guess what they will come up with next ?
And while women have been given some praise and acknowledgement in the Bible they have never been given any role of any significance ,certainly not in any governance or teaching capacity.
So I fail to see how they could be given a role to act as co-workers with Jesus Christ ruling as "King priests" in heaven for a thousand years .

The last job I had offered voluntary superannuation which I opted in for as I was a lousy saver and if the big A came before I received any benefits ? no big deal. (Paradise)
As it turned out I was in that job 28 years and came out with a tidy sum ,maybe it was because I was a convert and figured it was a good each way bet ?
i need the advice of those of you who are exjw's on what to do about my still in mother.
briefly, here's the situation: i am a born-in, never got baptised (thank the fsm), became an athiest about 2015 but haven't come out to anyone but my wife and some trusted friends.
my mother was raised in the society and is a true believer, but was never as strict about it as some parents are when i was growing up.
You don`t want to shun her because she doesn`t believe what you believe do you ? Otherwise wer`e not much better than them.
If their is any breakdown in your relationship with your mother let it come from her and not you.
Much good advice from previous posters I think.
my still in wife informed me this morning that she must be on time to the meeting as they are locking the door when it starts now.. i said that's crazy.
she said it's because of the times we are living in.. we live in a rural area and crime isn't terrible though it's worse than it used to be.. i told her if that's the way it is then why bother leaving the house at all?.
she said they are just trying to be safe.. is this a thing now?
