would love to read this book one day and give it to my mum and brother who are both in the organisation.. so many people i see on videos claim that this book was the nail in the coffin.
but do you know anyone where it had no effect on them?.
I`m afraid I was one who read it while I was still a believer and I just put it down as a disgruntled family member of Fred Franz who didn`t feel appreciated enough .
The book that had the biggest impact on me was Don Cameron`s "Captives Of A Concept" which I learned was a phrase taken from CofC.
stan's recent post about the apostasy movie reminded me that i had watched it last month, so i thought i'd write a review.
please note this will probably contain some spoilers so if you care about that sort of thing hold off on reading this.. first i want to say that this is probably one of the most if not the most accurate and reasonable cinematic portrayals of jws.
however here is a list of little inaccuracies: an outdated view that preaching to all the world can 'make' the end come, jesus briefly portrayed with long hair, judicial reinstatement meetings being called "guidance meetings", a normal weekly public talk being introduced as "the first in a series of talks he's prepared for us", applause at the end of a local needs part, and a jw saying of god "you need to earn his love, it's conditional" ( i know this is basically true in practice but they'd rarely say it out loud).
I have since watched "Apostacy" and I believe you have done a good job reviewing it nbd .I highly recommend any who have not seen it to do so.
Kudos to all those responsible for its production and performing in it .

maybe theres 2 kings of the north that overlap as in the king of true north and the king of magnetic north.
LOL , overlapping Kings of the North ? is it possible to also have overlapping kings of the South ?
it was announced in this year’s annual meeting that they believe that the king of the north is russia and the king of the south is us/britain.
for me this is the first time hearing from the society actually identifying the identity of the king of the north.
very interesting times!
And when Russia fails to live up to the Governing Body`s expectations as the King of the North they will probably shift their focus on to the emerging world power of China as the King of the North .

Well he put two perfect humans in the Garden of Eden and that failed .
He created Angels in the heavens as perfect beings and that failed
And he is still powerless to correct anything here on earth to this day ,so that`s another failure.

Just to clarify a point for those who weren`t around or were too young during the "Cold War"
Russia back then was known as the USSR ,The Union Of Soviet Socialist Republics that consisted of a number of East European Countries under the control and domination of Russia.
The book produced by the WT society "Your Will Be Done On Earth" about Daniels prophecy`s named the USSR the group of nations and not Russia alone as the king of The North at that time.
And when the USSR crumbled with the fall of the Berlin wall the USSR ceased to exist .And the Nations that were under Russian control got their independence
And the king of the North was no longer identifiable according to the WT. at that time in the early 1990`s .
there were numerous objections and claims that watchtower lawyers made to try and get out of being held responsible for their negligence and malice.
here’s the juicy ones:.
montana is a mandatory reporting state, but watchtower lawyers claimed that the law for reporting abuse only applies to “individuals” and they are “corporations”.
Typical response from the WT/GB would be : " leave it in Jehovah`s hands he will fix it in his own due time"
Maybe that would be the best outcome all around if and when the WT does start throwing Elders under the bus then maybe it would wake a few more up out of their delusion.

on oct. 15 jamestown ny will be having what i call a pretty large 3 day event on jehovah witnesses canaries in the coal mine of human rights:seventy five years after west virginia vs. barnett.
this was the supreme court case on the pledge of the allegiance which the wt.
won.
So its an event conducted and controlled by Jehovah`s Witnesses for JW`s right ? Authorised by the WTB&TS ?
