isn't it sad that we'll never see a jehovah’s witness woman appearing on such a list because of the misogynistic attitude within their organisation.
Julia Gillard the first Australian woman PM got on this list ? Well I guess that counts for something
2+2=5 I hope she gets the recognition she deserves for doing that and that it reverberates around the world with real healing for all those abused and not just empty words.

Well i just had to respond to this one as it was a John Santa Cruz who first made me aware of Jehovah`s Witnesses who was a co-worker of mine here in Australia and was instrumental in getting me to be baptised about 18 months later in the 1960`s.
He had been brought up in the religion had his own problems and was just getting back into it when he contacted me.
A very sensitive guy who was different from my usual friends and was a bit paranoia about persecution because they had the "truth" and that somehow appealed to me a bit .
One thing he said to me after I was in it for a couple of years was "one day you will probably hate me for bringing you into this religion "
But I never blame him for that ,it was my choice my decision .For my own reasons .
And after I left the job where we worked together at I lost contact with him and that`s going back to the 1950`s .

today is my 34th birthday.
or, my 3rd birthday that i've actually acknowledged seeing as i was raised in the cult.. i woke up this morning to my 4yo running into my room and wishing me a "happy birthday daddy!".
i got a card from my ex-jw brother and i bought myself a birthday gift - a new 50mm lens for my nikon camera (photography is a hobby i took up since leaving the cult).. i dont know about you guys, but birthdays is still something i have to make a conscious effort to acknowledge and enjoy.
Happy birthday and enjoy yourself on this "special" day P.E. because it is special otherwise you wouldn`t be here now .

there were various moments where you could tell that the mother and even the “faithful” daughter were bottled up inside with many thoughts and feelings left unsaid.
