When 2 want to visit.

some of the local witnesses have been by, periodically, to check on us and say that they miss us.

i consider that a decent thing to do since they figure that we're going to die any day now from the loving god.

some have been elders, who have to always stay distant so that they don't somehow get contaminated by being too nice to us.

Why not ask them if they will be happy if your friend a lawyer sits with you when they come by as a second witness.?

When did the policy to report to the legal “desk” / “department” was introduced?

as you are all aware the elders are instructed that when they come across a case of “child sexual abuse” they have to call the “legal desk” / “legal department”.

prior to 1993 this was the policy that as an elder we had.

do you know when this policy was introduced or started and what was the history behind it?.

The Reasons for Cart Witnessing

whatever we think of it, you have to admit that it's quite "genius".. the door to door ministry as done in western developed countries where the jw quirky religion has probably reached their saturation level was a complete and utter waste of time in terms of the effort expended to recruit people.. at the same time, it was rarely something that anyone enjoyed which led to people being labelled as inactive, being pressured to doing more and maybe ultimately deciding jwism wasn't for them and leaving.. there was also the issue that many jws are actually pretty bad at knowing and articulating their beliefs so were pretty incapable of getting any meaningful message across.. they solved all this with the cart witnessing.

the real point isn't to recruit, it's to make life easier for jws.

now they can stand and chat with their friend, have a coffee, not talk to anyone or make eye contact and still act as a walking billboard for jw.org.

Jehovah`s Witnesses that man ( male or female ) carts are guilty of lying to their God they worship claiming they are witnessing for him and his son Christ Jesus ,when they don`t have any conversation with a non JW person in all the time that they are manning these carts.

They are lying when they put in their reports.

I have heard it said , just by our being their is a witness on its own ?

If that`s the case Churches of Christendom are witnesses of their faith .

Cart preaching question

i just wonder how the elders see the cart witnessing they always want to show co when he comes to visit how congregation covers the territory.

but there must be a great problem with that now as pioneers prefer sitting drinking coffee beside a cart.

So Pioneers now can sit down having coffee manning or womanning a cart not talk to any non witnesses and then at the end of the month put in a report that they spent 60 hours or whatever it is now witnessing for Jehovah about Christs Kingdom ,when in fact they spoke to no one outside of their own faith who dropped by.

Have they no conscience lying to their God ?

i've been debating whether or not to post this story simply because the org knows who i am (post history from pre-'05 will tell you all you need to know), and i'm not sure if they would give my parents shit if they knew what transpired earlier this summer.

but you know what, i don't care what they do, because my mom is dying of stage iv cancer and i feel this needs to be heard by anyone struggling with the loss of contact from their relatives.. for those who are not familiar with my background, i became a small thorn in the side of the wts while i was still in.

i'm not big on being deceived, and for me, the org crossed my personal 'red line' when it came to blood and the child abuse issue.

Funny that the book "Aid To Bible Understanding" printed by Jehovah`s Witnesses admitted that the name Jehovah was not the most accurate and that Yahweh was probably a more accurate rendering.

Also its interesting that nobody in the New Testament /Christian Greek Scriptures either Jesus or his disciples nor anybody else ever used the name Jehovah in the Greek text that Jehovah`s Witnesses based their New World Translation on .

And to top it off the KI translation of the Greek Text a word for word translation of the Greek that the WTB&TS printed does not contain the name/word Jehovah not one time.

Nor does it contain the equivalent Greek four letters of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton APPEAR ANYWHERE IN THE TEXT.

hi beautiful people ..... so today is my wedding anniversary ....... .

and first of all my dear husband forgot again .... which is normal according to my dear old dad "it's a man thing " .

but to add insult to injury , i must wait till friday to be taken out for dinner , because low & behold my jdub husband can't miss one bloody jw meeting !

Is there a surge in "Upwakers"?

the stupid word in the topic title is a piss-take on the bloody silly jw word "needgreaters" that i have seen them use.. but my question is genuine, i know it is a cyclical thing, we get what seems to be a lot of newbies, and then things quieten down, but not just on here, elsewhere on social media i am seeing stories of people finding the courage to leave, having woken up for a variety of reasons, but usually the child abuse scandal, and the spiteful, judgmental nature of many jw's, who, though supposedly friends, will run off to the elders to snitch on you, not talk to you.

is their a real increase in those leaving ?

i do hope so, so many more finding real freedom and happiness !.

To the general public : We are not like Christendom`s religions we don`t have a clergy laity class.

In a Court of Law : We claim Clergy Penitent privilege .
