  should he have also urged lay people in the catholic religion to do the same ?

  in the catholic church their does seem to be a prominence of clergy that have been engaged in this abuse .. i`m not sure that can be said of the jehovah`s witness religion ,my understanding is while this abuse does involve elders and ms to some degree ,the majority of cases occurs within the laity class ,the rank and file members of the congregations.. where the jw`s religion is responsible for a duty of care to its most vulnerable members ,the children.. could or would the governing body of jehovah`s witnesses ever make such an appeal to the elders ,m.s.

  or the rank & file of jw`s to turn themselves in if they have been guilty of sexual abuse against a child ?.

  i just got so angry coming across this quote from the wt, shortly after raymond franz was disfellowshipped:.

  one who has been a true christian might renounce the way of the truth, stating that he no longer considers himself to be one of jehovah’s witnesses or wants to be known as one.

  when this rare event occurs, the person is renouncing his standing as a christian.

  I had to smile when I read that ,going back over their history of approx.140 years , my estimate would be in the millions that have left the religion over that time , and no longer want to be identified as a Jehovah`s Witness./ IBSA member.

  Coping with a change of heart

  after 24 years of active service as a witness my marriage came to an end causing massive trauma.during this tragic life event for a period of approx 8 months i went haywire.

  drinking.

  partying.smoking.i was disfellowshipped.i met a wonderful non witness along the way and am remarried.what i don't get is this.if an announcement was made that i am no longer a jehovahs witness then why does the bible principle in corinthians about not even greeting he who calls himself a brother still apply.

  one way to start de-programming yourself using one of the WT`s own publications .

  "The kingdom Interlnear of The Christian Greek Scriptures" and start reading the word for word translation in English ,and ignore the column in the margin.

  Just look up the word for word text.

  What you will find out is that the name / word Jehovah does not exist there.

  You will also discover that Christians were never called to be "Witnesses of Jehovah" but in fact were called to be witnesses of Jesus. On at least 20 occasions and not once were they called to be a witness of Jehovah.

  In that word for word text that the Jehovah`s Witnesses base their NWT on not one person in the New Testament utters the word Jehovah ,not one .

  That includes Jesus ,the Apostles , or any of his disciples .

  Isa.43:10-12 The Jews never took up the name Jehovah or identified themselves as such and Jesus never rebuked them for not doing so.

  Check out the origin of the name Jehovah by a 13th Century Spanish monk

  its just another example of JW`s taking a scripture out of context and misapplying it.

  Don`t take my word for it start checking for yourself today.

  they cost a heap.

  too often they end up pumping a hot plastic smell out and therefore into my lungs.

  Jehovah`s Witnesses pride themselves in volunteering to help build K.H.`s ,witnesses who are in the building trades such as plumbing ,electricians ,plasterers , builders , tilers ,etc, that I know of gave of their time and effort to build K.H.`s free of charge ,and in many cases donated said materials as a gift to furthering true worship.

  All at no cost to the G.B. of Jehovah`s Witnesses at H.Q. USA. And this KH now belongs to J.W./H.Q./USA

  A number of years down the track J.W./H.Q. decides to sell said K.H. and where does the money go to ?H.Q. of JW /USA

  The poor suckers who spent their time and effort and money to build this hall are left with nothing and if they want another hall they have to do it all over again .

  And get screwed again if their so gullible.

  Another Interesting conversation with my father today

  dad - sister x had been visiting a lawyer as she is wanting to write her disfellowshipped daughter out of her will.

  apparently her lawyer told her that if she leaves the daughter just $1000 then she can’t contest the will because she has been given her inheritance.. joe - oh thats unfortunate for the daughter as sister x is worth many times that.

  no doubt despite been dfed she has still got to pay bills and survive.. dad - sister x isn’t happy about the life style her daughter is living.

  I`m not sure that I`ve got it right but is it another example of a JW trying to blackmail another back into the religion ?
