I lived in S/E.Qld for 37 years and this was a regular thing that we endured and sometimes the hailstones were tennis ball size and even larger .
So i can sympathize with anyone who has endured a massive hailstone storm ,
My thoughts go out to them and hope they are all safe especially if their are any on this forum who have endured and gone through this storm

Climate change : I`m a true believing skeptic .:The climate is always changing that`s why we have different seasons ,seriously though the climate goes through changes like the tide goes in and out. We have periods of dry seasons we have periods of wet seasons and everything in between .
How long have humans been monitoring the weather and temperatures ? not very long in the whole scheme of things , I roll my eyes when it is reported that we haven`t had such a high temperature in January since 1926 ?
Oh so you did have such a high temperature then ? What man made pollution caused that ?
Or we haven`t had such widespread floods as these since 1920 ? Oh so you did have these type of floods back then ? What man made pollution caused that ?
The earths weather patterns are governed by cycles ,and those cycles could be over 100 years or maybe 500 years ? who knows ? or maybe even a thousand years .
I can remember as a young kid living in Melbourne Aust. and before 1940s/50`s when it was not uncommon during the summer months for the temperatures to reach 114-116 deg. F. for 5 or 6 days in a row .
I don`t recall anything like that happening in the last 20 or 30 + years or so .
The climate warms up and it cools down and so on and so on and has done so always.

and with him was a guest of the labour party of newcastle nsw ,sorry her name escapes me.. and some issues were raised that i never knew of, that survivors might have .hopefully i can articulate them here as i understand it.
and remember it ....we all know the trauma that a child will go through with being abused and some will go off the rails because of that and commit some crimes of their own maybe in their teen years .. anybody who has committed a crime and spent time in jail can not take part in the redress scheme.

Anybody who has committed a crime and spent time in jail can not take part in the redress scheme. ?
A victim who called in was disgusted with the whole process of the Redress Scheme and said he would not be a part of it.His reason was that the forms you had to fill in going over once again with what you went through and then that was to be presented to the very organization that was responsible for his abuse was just too much to take.
Also a person who has already given testimony at the ARC would have to go through this process again ? Why not just use his or her testimony that was given at the ARC ?
Another problem was ,Why does an organization that`s under investigation and has a history of abuse have to sign up to the Redress Scheme anyway ?
It has now been about 5 years since this inquiry was started and at the end of the ARC they were given 2 years to sign up about one year has already passed and their is still about 100 institutions that have not yet signed up to the redress Scheme.
Why are they dragging their feet ? They have had more than enough time to get there house in order and to comply with the ARC recommendations.
Which brings me to another point : Not all of the ARC recommendations have been adopted some were deviated from and watered down.
And lastly what I want to bring up is that there is no big stick to make any organization sign up at all to the National redress Scheme if they so choose not to do so .They cannot be forced to or made to sign up as it stands at present .
They can only be named and shamed or put under a moral / ethical pressure to sign up .

There is one other important point that I just can`t bring to mind right now, Oh if somebody has already gone through a court case and received a settlement and has had a gag order placed on them they cannot challenge the organization again even if what they received was well below what they could receive in compensation under the redress scheme

by AGoodPigeon ini'm new here, but i've been an ex-witness since 2015 (not disfellowshipped, faded and inactive but no longer believing) and i'm working on an art/personal project gathering the bapstism photos of many different ex-witnesses.
i am asking that anyone who feels comfortable with it send me (private message me) their photos that they or others took on the day of their baptism (before, after, or during).
i will not post these online anywhere or publish them.

As sir 82 says there are plenty of baptism photo`s in old WT & awake magazines so do your own research .

And the same can be true of a Nationality .Nations go to war with one another ,they don`t forever hold grudges or hatred between them for ever more do they ,they get over it.And trade and tour each others countries in peacetime.
Just as it would be hating a white person simply because they are white would also be wrong .
You either like or dislike a person on how you or they react with you and not judge a whole race or colour of people or nationality because of maybe one or two bad experiences you may have had with someone.
