Funeral Fashion

i have a funeral to attend for a non jw family member and the jdub family member reminded me that i should not wear black.

for the life of me, i can't recall where this belief came from in jw teachings and i'm born in.

is there something in print or is that just a personal opinion belief?

I have been to a couple of "worldly" funerals and most people just wear everyday smart casual clothing ,nothing black to be seen.

However going back a few decades especially in Europe and of Italian descent black was probably the norm.

I got to give a speech at the University of Louisville today about JWs and Propaganda

today my wife and i went to college.

although not allowed to go to college as jws we got to lead a class today and it was really special to be able to do that.

the class was an honors class on social media and psychology and i created a presentation around the propaganda and manipulation used against us as jws.

My face in real life

so after years of being out of the orginization, and using a pseudonym i have put my face out there for the world to see.

the repercussions have been real.

but i am also convicted in my stance.

I enjoyed the video and it was a pleasure to see a knowledgeable interviewer on the subject of JW`s conducting it .

I just have one small gripe.If i had no knowledge of the JW religion at all , and I watched this video I would have got the impression that she cut herself off from her own family after leaving the religion .

Nowhere did she say that they her family shunned her or disowned her for leaving the religion .

I tried to look at it as though I was someone who didnt know anything about JW`s and that`s what I came away with.

Otherwise I truly enjoyed the whole presentation.

The Watchtower logically prefers everyone that knows TTATT to disfellowship themselves

every active jw that stays in hiding their knowledge about ttatt is a hole in the watchtower wall.

i propose those who can stay in, should, especially if they have high positions.

how else can we know what they are up to?

I can see value in that now to some extent ,however I do believe its something they themselves have to experience that will wake them up and not something someone says to them .

"Be Strong!"---SAD

attended the sad yesterday with my wife.

bethel speaker flown in to california which made it "special".

(his talks were infomercial bs, but at least he was a good speaker.

This may reflect my lack of faith, but I was at Whole Foods yesterday and bought 3 green bananas. I hope I did not waste my money.

How many times has so many of us had these sentiments / views over the years and we have still had the time to eat the fruitage and no such prophecy by the WT/JW religion has ever come to fruition .?
